We are being tracked by our cars

I have been reading more on the topic of car companies using a telematic or Data Communication Module to collect personal date. They then sell our info to insurance companies and data brokers. These boxes are located in numerous locations and in my 2019 Bullitt it's on the drivers side of the trunk behind the liner. Rather then messing with the liner, I'd rather disconnect the fuse that powers it. The owners manual doesn't give any info, so if anyone has any idea I'd really appreciate it.

The Owners Manual specifies the fuse location. Search in the manual "Telematics".

The tracking isn't the issue here. The auto companies are recording all our info and then selling it to insurance companies and data brokers. Have you noticed an increase in spam calls and/or emails form companies you never heard of. One thing about Ford is the telematics do not effect anything else in our cars and are easily located and unplugged or disconnected by removing a fuse. In many of the Japanese cars they tie these into navigation and the ability to remotely start the car from your phone or a fob thus

Tracking is exactly what they are doing to gather all the data you are describing. How is that not the issue?
I am assuming you own a Ford since you are here, just pull the fuse and call it a day? Now about the smart phone.....what should we do with that? Or any of other methods they use like MAGS mentioned?

If you think that's bad, you should read about all the f*$king Flock cameras they are installing everywhere to track us. I highly recommend becoming informed about that sort of thing as well and signing petitions or calling your representative in protest. Hate how much surveillance they're putting right under our noses these days.

I must bore all cameras that watch me because I don't do anything of interest. AND I know how to say "No" to all the advertising that comes my way. There must be a lot of useless information out there.

Don’t get me started on Flock and all the 4th amendment issues with them. People all over the country are blocking the cameras, spray painting the lenses black or outright cutting them down. I don’t condone vandalism but I’m not sad about it either.

I unplugged the Telematics module on my car the first weekend I had it. Fortunately mine is a manual, so no remote start to worrry about. Nothing in the Fordpass app worth having either so no big loss for me.

Did the same, manual here as well. I'm not interested in seeing where I left my car on my phone or how much fuel it has.
