Did a lot of searching here but couldn't find anyone that has successfully been able to install 2015-2017 Recaro seats in a 2018+ Mustang. I understand there is something different about the air bag connection in the 2018+ but has anyone figured out exactly what it is and how to overcome the problem?

I assume the seat tracks and actual bolt locations are the same.

On a side note, has anyone verified that the air bags are different in the Recaro seats vs the stock seats? I imagine the air bags are a big reason the Ford Performance Recaro's are $3,000.

Airbags are the same, at least as far as the car is concerned.
can't speak to the connector problem.

The only thing materially different are the airbag connectors.
Something in the design changed from 18+ Factory-equipped Recaro models, which necessitated a change to the Ford Performance version of the Recaros.

From what most people have reported. In terms of the actual seat design, size, leather material, and all other inner-workings, the 15-17 vs 18+ Recaros are virtually the same.

It's unknown whether you could somehow splice an 18+ connector onto the 15-17 seats to make the airbags work. (unless someone has done this already)

I just completed this swap today. Got a deal on some recaros out of a 2016 and I took a chance. Connectors are exactly the same. Drivers seat requires nothing to work. The only thing you need is the passenger side occupancy sensor. Once you swap the bladder over you’re golden.

You can either pull it from your stock seat or get the part number from your passenger seat and order one. No airbag light and detects a passenger like it should.

Idk why it’s taken so long for someone to post the info. Such a simple swap.

I just swapped comfort seats in my 2019 to recaros from 2017 and having the airbag light stay on. Do you recall what was the part number for the passenger side occupancy sensor?

I don’t, but I just ordered a seat base out of a crashed car since I converted them to power bases as well.

Hey!
I have a 2015 base Mustang and looking to put a set of 2019 premium seats in the car.
Can you confirm that the 2018+ and 2015 power forward and back worked plug and play?
