I have a stock 2020 Mustang GT PP 10 speed and I don't like how the transmission shifts which I know is common. My 8 speed Camaro SS shifted smoother. Many simply disconnect the battery to reset the adaptive learning, but to totally clear it out doesn't it require the dealer to flash the PCM? Instead of paying a dealer I'd rather just buy a tune. I've read having a tune makes the transmission shifts much better.

My issue with the tunes is I had a 2012 GT and I never tuned it because cylinder #8 was blowing with tunes which scared the crap out of me.

I've been happy with the FP tune in mine. Transmission shifts very smooth in D and gets more aggressive in S and S+.

Cant speak on my car personally because its manual but a friend of mine has a 10speed tuned by lund for 3 or 4 years now and he loves the way it drives. Ive road in the car before and after the tune and it definitely shifts smooth during normal driving and gets down when he lays into it. He hasn't had any major issues with the car and high recommends lund, best of luck

I had Wengerd on my 22 GT 10 speed, night and day difference in shift quality. I am manual now, but I would still say Wengerd is a great option.

Stay away from Lund.
I have so many complaints with their tune. It would take days to type it out.
800+ rpm idle speed is too high for an automatic. Lunches hard when trying to park and switching from drive to reverse. Pulls too hard sitting at a red light. Sometimes it will idle at 1000 rpm for no reason.
Their 2nd gear shift is all over the place. Sometimes it shifts to 2nd at 4mph. Sometimes it takes 2 whole seconds to complete the shift.
Not much thought was put into their 10r80 shift schedule.
I recently switched back to stock and will buy a hptuner and tune it myself soon.

800rpm is fine and the idle rpm has nothing to do with how hard it switches from reverse to drive or any other gear. How hard it drops in gear or switches between gear is programmed into the tune. Sounds like you’re torque reduction is wrong or turned off

You guys would be really surprised to see "under the hood" of these aftermarket tunes and what they actually do on the transmission side. Really surprised.

But this is why I asked the question I asked...what is the complaint about the shifting? This tuner does this and that tuner does that, but does either one address the complaint of the OP which still has not been stated?

I feel like your transmission is toast and you’re blaming a mechanical issue on the tuner. This doesn’t sound normal at all.

Anyone ever considered that the transmission is slipping or just doing 10r80 things after hard use?
