But the ESS kit is much lighter (100+lb )and the 10 speed has the car always at the topend of the tach...I'm going ESS
Cheapest, fastest, lightest, bestest in the whole wide world..... We have all heard the sales pitch.

I'm sure it's great and all, but some of the posts about it are wild. They seem to be reliable and folks say thier customer service is good. I run procharger and have been pleased with the performance. I've ran thier blowers far beyond max impeller speed for almost a decade. I'm unsure about thier customer service though, I've never had to call them.

A boosted coyote is a winner either way. They buyer has plenty to choose from to support internet hype, street cred or even timeslips.

Whipple 100%. Warrantied, reliable and adds 300hp.
and 150lb onto the nose..ESS 42lbs. If racing and all things equal and on pump gas while running the A10 I put money the ESS car is faster ...not by much . Depends on the race too.. A dig race will favor the Whip car if there is traction ,a roll where the cars are starting in their powerband say 5k+ then the ESS

Highly doubt it's much over 100lbs. The shipping weight is like 149lbs, you can't count the packaging, and you remove a couple things as well.
Exactly, the factory intake isn't 'light' and even an extra 100lbs might be too high.

For comparison, the base procharger kit:

Part Type Supercharger Kit
Product Line ProCharger Supercharger Kits 2015-2017 Mustang GT 5.0L
Package Depth 13.50
Package Height 66.00
Package Width 10.00
Part Category Performance Parts
Part Fitment Direct Fit
Shipping Weight 105.00
Vendor Part Number 1FW214

So probably 50lbs lighter either way.

Also remember that you're going to be modifying the car elsewhere, losing weight, etc. Even with the Whipple on it, my car weighs less than it did stock. Aftermarket wheels (not a drag pack), aluminum driveshaft, aftermarket rear suspension, aftermarket exhaust...sure, with a centrifugal it would be another 50lbs lighter or whatever, but the blower it didn't make it 'heavy'

Another vote for ESS. It’s popular for a reason and not just because it’s less expensive.

Take that 10K, buy the blower, a fuel system for E85, and some suspension mods. And still have money left over for a nice dinner.

Myself and some of my customers have been deep 8’s in the 1/4 mile with stock engines. A good customer of mine has been 8.50 @ 160 with the ESS 6 rib belt and stock engine in a Gen 3 10R80 car. All stock ESS parts. Intercooler, charge pipes, brackets etc.

Another customer has been 8.17 with the same blower but with a TH400 and built motor. Again, zero kit add ons or modifications. Stock ESS intercooler, silicone charge pipes, brackets, head unit etc. G3R head unit still being spun within warranty RPM.

My personal car is an ESS S650. It holds the stock motor overall record for the S650 platform with an 8.69 @ 160. (3.94 60-130 for those that roll race.) Untouched engine. No OPG’s no IMRC delete.

Just my 2 cents!
