In a couple of weeks, I'm gonna have a track day at Willow Springs on Big Willow, which has more wide sweeping turns than tighter ones. If you have been on the track, you know what I mean. On my GT350, I'm gonna run 305 30ZR19 Front and 325 30ZR19 Rear. I'm just trying to decide the best tire for a moderate-temperature, dry desert track day. Right now, I’m between the Hoosier Track attack pros and Eagle F1 SuperCar 3R. The Bridgestone Potenza RE-71RZ is also on my radar, but it's a relatively new tire that could have unknown issues. I have watched a few reviews already, but they seem confusing because some say the Hoosier is on par with, if not better than, the Cup 2R's for a non-OE tire, while others say it is worse and only slightly better than the regular Cup 2's. I want to hear your personal experiences with these tires and any other suggestions you guys could have. Also, they don’t make the Cup 2r’s in the sizes I have, which is why I’m not going with them.

I have great wear and consistency with the standard GT350 Cup 2 tires from the 2019+ cars. Not quite as sticky as the R tires but they last a long time compared to the R model Cup2's. I have also run older RE71's as well as the standard GT350 Michelins. Until you get to the point you can get the absolute max out of your car, it really doesn't make a whole lot of difference. I'm not very fast but I have fun. I think my best lap was a 1:42 but I run consistent 1:46. I need to carry more speed into 8 and 1 but my foot won't let me.

I would give the Goodyears a shot. Faster than the other two in testing

Even the regular non R version of the Goodyears is a great option in 295/30 and 305/30. Dimensions wise very close to the R Cup2s as a bonus. Right now I am running Conti's ECFs (295/30, 315/30) and I am liking them a lot if ultimate grip is not your goal.

What is your skill level?
Novice, intermediate, racer ?
How many track days have you done?
R u pushing the car limits or is the car pushing your limits ?

Grassroots Motorsports has a great “tire guide” where they review a bunch of track day tires. May be worth checking out. They are pretty unbiased imo

I regularly go to trackdays as part of their intermediate run groups, and I'm fairly high-paced there, not enough to go advanced or racer, but I definitely can overtake Porches, Corvettes, and BMWs that are in the group. I personally would put myself as a high intermediate, especially on Big Willow, as I have done well over 15 track days there, so I'm very familiar with the apexes, braking zones, and such. I've definitely pushed the GT350's limits in some turns, but that was before the recent suspension tuning and modifications I made, and I'm planning to put wider wheels on it.

What do you like about them specifically? I am looking for the ultimate grip in a streetable tire that I can use to drive to the track and back.

Yeah, after looking at some reviews, the Goodyear's look very promising and are at the top of my list, but I always prefer to hear from people who use them in a non-sponsored capacity and on the same car as me.

I guess my first question is, how much track experience do you have? Not trying to be condescending, but I'd hate to suggest a tire if this is your first outing.

If it is, I'd keep whatever you have, and it will teach you much better car control.

If it's not, and you're serious about lap times, I'd go with the Goodyear's 3rs, or maybe the CRS v2 if you don't want to go right to a slick. The stones will overheat quickly, but are super controllable even if you go way over the limit with them. I've got no experience with the Hoosiers, and don't really plan to ever get them, but I understand they get mushy relatively quick as well.

Wear is great, price was great, they are the lightest option short of the Cup2s, excellent predictability and feel, really good to drive on the street as well above 40F. You might find grippier tires that do well on the street but ultimately these are doing well for me atm. They are a great 1 tire solution.

Are you referring to the ECF or SC3?
