I am writing because I am at a crossroads on my suspension set up. I feel like I am getting twitch, float, and wheel hop all in various conditions. Certain types of roads/scenarios create:

-a twitchy/nervous side to side action that makes me feel like i'm wiggling back n forth in my seat.
-a floaty front end that unsettles the car and it feels like the car is rocking back n forth/front to back.
-a floaty up n down where the whole car pancakes up and down
-when I gun in a straight line it feels like the rear is planted but the front is not. It doesn't lift up but doesn't feel planted
-wheel hop is occurring sometimes usually in a turn which then sometimes really unsettles the car front to back

An afternoon drive can yield a whirlwind of stiff one minute floaty the next driving experience. Sometimes you feel everything and its a good thing and sometimes its not.

Sometimes changing drive modes helps but really degrades my confidence in driving and overall fun. Sometimes Normal is way too soft and sometimes track is way too rough but that will also flip flop.

Thoughts? Car just feels BUSY I know its subjective and overall it's not the end of the world but I was curious if anything glaring stood out to folks. Main usage is weekend warrior/aggressive back road driving with some light cruising here n there.

It sounds like shock absorber issue + Some of those symptoms happen with traction control. Twistchy wiggle is applying brakes as it activating on and off , that within itself can unsettle the car.

This is the first thing that came to mind. Next thing to check is to make sure the suspension isn't in a bind anywhere, as that can lead to bouncy/floaty ride.

Did you notice this change after any particular change / install? Could help narrow down things to check.

I believe I emailed you this morning in regards to maybe coming down to ga. I didn't have time to provide as much detail as I have here.
I did a want a broader perspective. This all started after we installed

Sway bars
Springs
Diff bushings
Toe links
Bumpsteer kit

We realized we needed to clock the bushings and for most part it was fine but it seems like over the last 6 months it's gotten worse or reverted back to almost that same state of non clocked.

I was tempted to adjust
Alignment
Sway bars
Buy more things as I'm still on control arm bushings

Didn't see anything today, if you don't mind, please Resend to [email protected]
I'll be able to follow up in the AM.

Your alignment is a tad on the aggressive street side, but not too crazy. Twitchiness can stem from Alignment, but looking at yours, while there is room for improvement, is pretty good. I assume the Toe ( -1/16) is a typo.

Here are few more things to check:

1 - Are the rear bump stops trimmed when installing the lowering springs?
2-Check the rear wheel bearings for play, also check the axle nuts for being loose(These can induce rear sway side to side)
3- For street use, I would recommend going to softest settings on your racing sway bars.

1. Yes they were trimmed
2. Will check as this was referenced in my investigation outside of the forum
3. Oddly my own thoughts were "damn maybe these bars are a bit more race car then anticipated"

Progressive springs with spacers seems like a ofd combination. Not sure what the point is there. Soft and running out of travel.

-1/16 toe out on front is odd too. Should make it a little twitchy in steering.

Rear swaybar on stiff. Not sure why you have that set to stiff, it wont help.

Work with the steeda rep, looks like they’ve sold you an odd set of parts and esp in conjunction with the alignment and sway setting you have.

I’d personally never recommend progressive springs with spacer band aids. Or really ever those progressive springs. I dont like the front and rear camber being so similar (better the front higher than the rear or vice versa IMHO, i wouldnt say its sporty for the street at all, but it is sus. That front negative toe (toe out) is not good for most people. And soften that rear sway, most people want stiffer up front than the rear or it will want to step out on you by default in a corner.

Some of what you’re talking about is probably just those springs. I wish they wouldnt sell those progressives to people who actually want to drive the car. They’re a popular spring sure because they’re low and soft, but those arent a good combination if you want the car to handle.

Update to thread:

alignment on back left was one degree off from original alignment. How it moved? Who knows

then had steeda end links installed

Alignment put back to specs from the shop and adjusted bars to their softest setting.

Despite opinions of the alignment i did feel something had changed which clearly it did.

I am very happy with the car now.
