Nice, another "R" motor
It seems all the replacement motors are, no?

Also the oil pressure sensor is changed with o rings like the oil filter housing and the block is different too, apparently.

It's good to see updates being made for known issues such as the oil pressure sensor backing out (like the spin on filter to canister style mid 2017).

Who knows, maybe in 30 years...if we still have gas stations....those of us with R replacement motors in a non-R (or who ever own the car then....), can use that for added collectibility?

This is a replacement engine. The original motor had ring failure in 3 cylinders.
So did mine, Cylinders 1, 2 & 3. I was wondering what your cars original build date was because I want to see where the issue started and ended
by tracking the dates, chassis numbers and vin I am using a database to see if I can get an idea.

Being that your car is an 2018 with the failed engine built on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 27th one done that day at 16:00
says that Ford still were not able to identify the problem after 10 months.

I’m sure by now Ford has a good track of the production dates of the motor failures. The interesting part would be to see what they have done to the suppliers of bad stuff. Ford does not make the rings and pistons themselves. I don’t think they cast the block themselves either.

Cylinders 1,2 & 3 were bad. 40% loss in 1 and 2. 35% in 3.

Build date of the car is 2/18 last 4 1228. Chassis J1131

the thing that gets my feathers riled a bit is that Ford new there is a problem with the cylinders and lowered the threshold for engine replacement to 500/qt from 1,000/qt. It riles my feathers because I spent 9 hours and 2 days of vacation days driving aimlessly around to prove to Ford my engine was bad when all they needed to do was inspect the plugs and then after seeing that they are fouled, do a compression and leak down test. However to Ford's credit, there was no push back whatsoever on authorizing the replacement motor. So I can't be too upset.

Let me know what else you need.

8th Engine built on 6/13/2018.

I did notice my engine tag looks like it was placed over (refer to upper right of the tag) a previous one...hmmm.

Seems to be the case. My motor was replaced Feb 2019 with a motor built dec 12, 2018 - 8th motor built that day.

So I was trying to find that tag on my engine, but couldnt find one near the dipstick - any other place it would be on a Dec. 17 350?

Did you remove the plastic valve cover that cover the ignition coils? You have take the breather off to get the plastic cover off. The cover pops right straight up.

same here, all they had to do was pull the plugs and/or do a borescope view..
mine was eating 1 quart every 120 miles, it was easy to prove my engine was bad.
