Please post pictures of your Engine Identification Tag along with the year and type of GT350.

Car Build Date (label on drivers side door jam)
Shelby Number: (J1234 or JR001)

I talked to a Friend who's Brother works at Romeo Engine Plant. I asked about the Engine Identification Label
under the drivers side coil cover towards the rear of the engine on the valve cover.and what the codes all mean.
Here is what he found out.

REP = Romeo Engine Plant
5.2L - displacment
GT350R = Engine Group

H=Year A= (Any revised changes to the Design for Model year)
555 = Engine key code (Calibration code)
AA = Revision (AA,AB,AC so on)
(Think of this as a process or procedures plan)

EF0AA = Romeo Plant code
Engine Build Date (Julian Date) 220 (unsure) Sequence Number (Built that day)

Here are some Samples
2018 GT350
Using the 2017 GT350 engine Design plan no revisions
Engine Build Date of 1/10/2018 and the 19th one built that day
3BMBN8K.jpg

2019 GT350R
Using the 2019 GT350R engine Design plan no revisions
Engine Build Date of 12/12/2018 and the First one built that day

He would not or could not tell me if there are differences between the two engines
he did elaborate that there are some calibration changes but did not know what
that meant. Could be due to the Removal of the resonators, or some snake oil used?

That first digit always goes by model year. GT350 launched with an FA-XXX-XX engine code in 15MY. Then went to G in 16MY, H in 17MY, J would be 18MY, and the new 19MY engine prefix is a K. They skip I.

The -555- and -557- I think differentiate GT350 and GT350R engines.

They only bump the code when there is a significant change. So for example, the spin on oil filter to the canister in 17MY.

I wonder where the 151 code comes into play, or where is it located?

On the GT350 Supplement Video:
"A little something we learned during this process is that the R-model Voodoo engines receive unique lash adjusters, VCT mechanisms and cam covers, and these engines carry code 151."

On the Engine ID Labels above, the GT350 non "R" has HA 557 AA and the "R" label has HA 555 AA

I was wondering what the GT350 and GT350R Engine Build codes are

I found a Label under he drivers side coil cover towards the rear of the engine on the valve cover.
My 2017 GT350 had the engine replaced due to high oil consumption, The Tech told me that the Long Block is
a GT350R model. I posted the tag and some have said thats not a "R" Engine code.

So Post pictures of your Tag along with the year and type of GT350.

Car Type:
Year:

What I know about the info on the tag,
REP = Romeo Engine Plant
5.2L - displacment
GT350R = I assume Car Model
(this code could be a calibration code)
HA = I believe Date Code?
555 = ??
AA = ??

EF0AA = Romeo code
11 digit number code = Serial Number

Here are some Samples
2018 GT350

This is the Label on my Replacment Engine in my Non "R" 2017 GT350
View attachment 341842 View attachment 341811

Interesting to note that the pic of the 2018 GT350R sticker has the 17 MY HA engine. I wonder if that means it's an early 18 build? Maybe the upgraded piston and rings for the 18 MY can be proved with a sticker noting JA or something?

I find it humorous that people believe the R and non R have different engines.

They are not different and it’s been proven time and time again.

The problem is people believe bad reporting and publishing.

And your comments are just that...and with less cred than the article...until you prove otherwise I'd say.

Thats why I would like to see more labels.
The Engine that was installed in My 2017 GT350 is the KA 555 AA sticker
I assume "K" 2019? and A Month? January? since the motor was just installed last week
that would make sense right?

Thats why I want to see these Engine ID Labels from both GT350R and GT350's
If the Engine ID Labels are Different then there must be some differences, or is it just for tracking
data?

It’s been proven and that article is old and inaccurate.
Give a R and non R vin number to any ford dealer and have them look up the engine parts.
The part numbers are all the same.
I’ve looked into this more times that I can count.

You do realize that the finished engines go down the assembly line on a K member with all the front suspension on it correct?
When the engine is done being assembled it receives its coil covers. The engine builder does not install the coil covers.
You realize the R has red calipers, different springs and struts.

The data sticker indicates it’s a R so it goes into a R chassis.

It’s the same reason why the voodoo has a dual exhaust bolt pattern on the 2 center exhaust ports for a assembly line worker doesn’t add 5.0 headers on a 5.2.

If ford wanted to make R specific engines don’t you think they would of added billet or stronger opg’s also?

I’d say more non R’s are on the track then there are R’s. So to have two different engines is ridiculous.

It’s simply tracking data for assembly line.

OOOPS, Sorry just posted another thread that's similar. There's a couple of different questions there. I can delete if you guys think it's best.

There is a pic of GR245 label.

Not according to this August 24 2018 FordNXT article
https://www.fordnxt.com/tech-storie...i-WWwrPBrY1E1WoZ_dJCZBgEedw6-a7ivCRbMbZ0EWelw

But I do agree that there may not be any difference in the two motors and that label is just for tracking the engine S/N
But still want to understand what the numbers mean
