Hey guys I know this topic has been beaten to death but I had a specific question that I need answered and I couldn't find the answer anywhere.
Here it goes, would you guys rather do the BMR CB005 or the Steeda IRS support braces? and could you combine the two the get the best results? my goal is to reduce wheel hop, and stiffen up the rear. Im also planning on doing the Steeda diff bushings. Any input helps!

Well, our CB005 minimizes the IRS cradle movement so much, I do not see the Braces adding further benefit, when speaking of wheel hop only.

On that note, if you discard our two front braces....you can use the Steeda Braces. That would be a very good combination of products, but, I would say that is redundant and simply not necessary.

In my experience, the best 3 suspension modifications to help combat wheel hop are:

BMR-CB005
BMR-BK055
Shocks and Springs, or just Shocks.

As for the most overrated parts that I see people raving about:

Vertical Links
Toe Rods/Links

When talking specifically eliminating wheel hop, Vertical Links help slightly....but not as much as the internet will lead you to believe.

Toe Rods, excellent pieces....but they have a very small affect on wheel hop reduction. They are great to have for other purposes, though.

Good luck with your choice, and happy modding!

Yeah, I really didn't understand how vertical links do hardly anything for wheel hop. You have to control gross amounts of deflection, and that really only happens in the cradle bushings and control arm bushings.

There is also a big amount of deflection in the diff, but he is already planning those.

But yes, the cradle, diff and control arm bushings are the primary deflection areas that should be addressed.

Fair point, how could I forget?

For many of us the diff bushings are a no go on NVH reasons alone, so getting most of the way there on the suspension side is the focus.

Kelly,
I always liked this one better:

This one shows how effective the CB005 is...the most surprising thing for me was seeing how much the cradle moved when you're just going over road imperfections, no power applied.

I did the cradle and diff lockout kit from BMR and tossed in the Vert. links while I was in there.

I have no wheel hop at all unless I truly screw up on the launch and overload the tires. This has happened twice out of countless runs. That should be cured with some good rear shocks and hopefully some springs :)

Another one of these threads lol.

We've seen customers report their wheel hop is actually gone with just the install of our subframe support braces, although everyone's results may vary. We designed our support braces to work either as a standalone bolt-on or in conjunction with our highly praised and recommended IRS bushing support system.

Chances are you'll be happy with whatever route you go. You may also want to check out our diff bushing inserts since they do a great job at stiffening the diff and are completely removable. Here to assist with any questions!

This too. Both good ways to do it. It's preference of which you like better (BMR or Steeda).

Both make great kits, had BMR on my last car 652 rwhp, and all Steeda on this car 651 rwhp and NO wheel hop on either.

Best thing is pick one and stay with it as there may be advantages to using engineered matching components. Just a thought :)

I am a Steeda supporter and have a ton of their suspension mods with more coming in the next few weeks.

No hop on my car now. I love all the parts. Customer service is top notch.

If you go with Steeda, hit up David@Steeda and he will take care of you.

Thanks for all of the information, I guess I'll just have to decide which brand to chose. It seems like both have different ways of addressing the issue, but achieve the same end goal.
