Have just over 8K on the car and when getting out the other day I noticed the rubber "triangle" at the front portion of the window was cracked. I felt it and it was very "brittle" and if I squished it the cracks would continue. Looks like an old tire you see with all the cracks.

I took it to a local dealer and asked them about it and they said that "Rubber is not Covered" almost like a joking little rhyme he had.

Anyone else see this? I can only imagine another year from now. The passenger side is perfect and not doing this.

Why would it not be covered? The car has a bumper to bumper warranty until 36K or 3years. I called Bull sh#t on that one!

^^^ +1 ... everything but "wear items" are covered under the bumper to bumper warranty period. Maybe the rubber he was thinking about was tires.

I am going to a different dealer today. The one I went to was close to my house and pretty run down. The had no GT's, 1 EB and 2 V6. They had mostly trucks on the lot. Dealer is only 4 miles from my house and the "big" dealer is 30 miles that I will be making friends with today.

I had my triangle thing replaced under warranty for a different issue. It's covered.
It's actually a big triangular metal plate that is bolted to the door; it's covered in rubber that acts as a channel/guide for the window and it has a plastic face-plate on the outside. It's all one piece connected piece. They have to pop the interior door panel off to access the bolts that attach to the triangle. No big deal, took a week to order and get the part, 30 minutes to replace the part, 30 minutes of check in and check out at the dealer and two trips to the dealer (one trip to confirm the issue, one trip to replace the part).

Went to the big dealer. Part ordered, no questions asked. I know its a small issue now, but makes me wonder where Ford sourced some of these parts.

From the lowest bidder more than likely.

When was your car made? Month & year is on the VIN sticker on the inside driver's door jamb.
