Damn it. I may have to pull the trigger on those SP headers. Now have to either find a place that will install them cheap or rent a lift to install myself.

Yeah, running catless on my Evo was amazing. It wouldn't make over 28psi with a high flow cat. Went catless and made 36psi with no problem!same here! everyone said how horrible it would be and I never noticed anything too bad on my Evo. Maybe just a lil bit if you are sitting in a drive through, but it only smelled of awesomeness.![]()
I installed mine on Jack stands in my garage, make sure you have a set of flex head ratcheting wrenches. It will make it a lot easier allowing you more room to turn the nuts. You really only need a 15 mm one to get the stock headers off.Damn it. I may have to pull the trigger on those SP headers. oem you want factory connect, it will bolt to the factory connection pointSeveral people have mentioned a "performance connect" on these headers. What exactly does that mean? How do the collectors on these cars connect to the rest of the exhaust? Will they bolt up to the OEM connections?
I assume it takes a custom-fabricated setup to connect directly from the collector to the crossover pipe of an aftermarket cat-back?
SP steel is not USA source steel, its provided from the same place it's manufactured.... China.the metal is 304 stainless on the stainless power just like the stainless works.
its not a cheaper grade steel,
i typically recommend the fact connect, that way you can always hook up right away, til you go big power, theres no need to hack up the systemsThanks for the info....
What do you want when using an aftermarket catback from another manufacturer? Still use the "factory connect" I assume? If so....how do you get rid of the smaller diameter piece between the cat-back and the header collector? Does this require custom fabrication?
Side note....is it a bad idea to ditch the flex pipe? I had a Silverado with flex pipe in the factory exhaust. An aftermarket exhaust I put on had a terrible vibration so I had a flexible piece welded back in.
if i had to guess, it's sourced somewhere in that region, but they are 304 stainless. not 409 or a cheaper grade.SP steel is not USA source steel, its provided from the same place it's manufactured.... China.
Correct me if I'm wrong beefcake
I had to get my shop to make a custom 3 inch pipe from the Kooks, to the Borla. If i had to do it again, i would do it over and over and over. Ask David from Steeda what he thinks about my setup, if i had one word for it, it would be PERFECT.The only thing turning me off from the kooks is that they don't offer a 3" performance connection, at least no one has confirmed they do.
