How about because its 662hp vs 526. They do more then leave you behind. I ran 11.3@127mph with a 1.860ft in 1000+ da on stock tires in my 14 gt500. It does more then leave you behind rapes your face.
Yep, can't compare the two: ones a track monster, the other a 1/4 mile beast :)

I like the fact its quick off the line, but in reality if I was looking for a
1/4 mile beast, this is not the car I would buy.
But each to their own :)

Makes me think just how damn fast my 13 boss was, with a 0-60 in 4.0 and 1/4 at 12.3 (on par with about 100 less HP:)

Actually, a 12.3 quarter mile you can run with a 8 year old C63.

So no, not really that close at all.

The difference between a 11.9 and mid 12 is quite large and is typically seperated by atleast 4-5mph in the trap.

Also, the Boss is geared more for the 1/4 anyways especially with the fact that 1st gear ended @ 42mph or so. Not 53mph such as this car.

Not to mention a GT350 will run circles around a 302 in the lap circuit anyway. :D

Get that GT350 shorter gears, and I can see a 11.7-11.8 stock at 118-119mph.

I hope you realize I'm not actually that insecure. :) Of course the 13-14 has good reason to be miles ahead. In reality they are both pretty well balanced cars overall considering the extremes they reach. I was just joking that many GT350 guys will defend their "road racing cars" when they get dusted by straight-line only muscle.

If your in your GT350 sitting beside a 13/14 Shelby GT500
or hellcat, look ahead, if you see a curve go for it.
If not ignore him ;)

Top fuel dragsters and Funny Cars can not be used to prove pushrod engines are faster than OHC engines because the OHC engine was banned from those classes years ago. If OHC engines were allowed, the speeds would be insanely fast. There is a reason the OHC engine was banned from the Hot Rod Engine Masters Competition. The reason is the power potential is too high compared to the pushrod engines. Two years ago the OHC dominated the EMC and were banned from future EMC competition.
The Ford OHC engines finish 1-2-3 over the Chevy LS pushrod engines.

Also the only engine that ever got banned from NASCAR was the 427SOHC engines because it made a lot more power and rev easier than a pushrod 426 Hemi engines.

They may have been banned from a sanctioned class but not from building or racing one out side of a class. They do have run what ha brung or bracket racing classes so your facts are false. And to further inform you, fords 427 sohc was used for both 1/4 drag racing and nascar until as you said nascar banned it, but it wasn't banned by NHRA. Gas Ronda, Dyno Don Nicholson, Don the snake and others used them. I'm not disagreeing with you but I'm just making a statement.

Good point, although the 0-60 times are identical ... I think that's due to weight perhaps. This was going off MotorTrend boss to 60 in 4.0 and RoadnTrack GT350 to 60 in 4.0.

Guess my point was how fast the old platform could get, esp around the track in Laguna Seca garb :)

I had no idea if you were serious or not. Youd be shocked at the amount of ignorance there is in the car enthusiast circles. Its staggering. It hurts my face.

I agree, the SOHC engines were not banned by NHRA but Ford stop producing them as Crate Engines for Drag Racer's. Since there were no aftermarket suppliers...............R.I.P.
