From the order guide:

EMISSIONS STANDARD/OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT
50-STATE EMISSIONS ................................................. 425
Standard equipment in all states.
Looks like it.

I was told by a TX dealer today that he could not sell me a 350R because of "title issues" that had to do with emissions standards in CA.

Thats a big load of crap, they are all 50-state legal, not even an option for a non-CA emissions package.

If they did courtesy delivery, it would just be shipped directly to CA and the CA dealer would handle getting the car titled and registered. If they delivered it locally and you transported the car, you would just go to the DMV and that is it. I would ask to talk to the gen manager or fleet manager since they would be the ones more likely to handle out of state transactions

Yeah, I thought it sounded like b.s. I think the sales goon just realized they DIDN'T have an R and had to weasel out of his promise to me.

Not trying to defend the dealership, but the 2015 GT's are NOT all 50-state compliant and maybe the dealership has gotten burned before...

That's what I thought, didn't want to argue with the sales manager. This is the first one I've seen in the bay area and when I told him I was working with a dealer out of state he said it probably is not California legal. He had his marked up 29,999 over MSRP and I guess that is his sales pitch.

Myself and many others have cars on order coming from out of state, so don't listen to any BS From those guys, especially when they are asking 30k over. Ask them to bring up the order form and point out the non-ca emissions.

The only worry I have, if any, is when the DMV inspector opens the hood and spies the open airbox. It's a brand new car, therefore I'm not sure if they even have to open the hood?

My big worry is in 6 years when I need to get a SMOG. All SMOG stations I have ever been to would most likely question the open airbox and fail visual inspection. Unless I have a Carb #?

Then again... in 6 years a Prius might fail SMOG in California!! :headbonk:

Cars are all physically the same and therefore all physically compliant.

However it is my understanding that there are documentation differences and therefore some option codes for ordering cars for CA delivery (and for other states that use the same rules).

I ordered a GT350 from a dealer in OK, and he put in an option code that had something to do with "CA emissions for a non-CA delivery".

I'll see if I can find the form and get the exact terminology.

For this you can probably just show a picture of the engine from the owners manual to prove that the car is stock.

Sounds like Future ford in Concord. Great guys.... really  They are still trying to sell a 2013 boss 302 LS for 70-80k.

That'd be interesting information. The order guide seems simply seems to say that code 425 is the 50-state emissions and standard across all of them.
