In my mind I cannot justify buying from a company that went bankrupt, got bailed out by the government, has build/product issues, covers that up and breaks laws. If that's who you want to take to the dance, then have at it.

I would be down for the challenge...I have some good seat time in FORZA 4 racing...I raced in a Pinto in the game :) and also have real life time novice experience around my local track ( Brainerd International Raceway).

But joking aside...You do not buy a car based on forum opinions. At least not me, I try what I want and if it doesn't meet my expectations, I move to another brand. Variety is a spice of life as life is too short to keep waiting for Ford to make a better performing car than a Camaro.
Nothing wrong with wanting a few more plateaus in the Mustang before waiting. The transmission is coming, so is the refreshed fascia and maybe even MRC and NPP.

There's always waiting and then waiting for smart options/plateaus to be reached.

And by the time it happens in 2018 (at the earliest), most on this forum will already be looking to get a new car.

And if it doesn't happen you'll just be an idiot who doesn't have a car.

Just admit you don't know what you want, you just sound like a vagina.... GTFO...:)(Excuse my French)

Who the fuck bitches about a suede steering wheel when there is an available option for that too...None of these are based on performance factors like you claimed before.

The S550 has Recaro options as well

Fonts of the speedometer?..

And now a Fusion front end?...SO BE IT...The Camaro has a Camry front end too!

Who in their sane minds watches Jay Leno for a car review?...Pussies.
At least watch MotorTrend's Randy or Chris Harris for a more educated review.
+1 move on. OP sounds like a camaro troll

You also mentioned GM did it right and lowered the weight. The new camaro is lighter than the older ones but damn not by THAT much. It doesn't weight 3200-3300 pounds.

I'm a big GM fan and have owned multiple camaros in the past and a 78 trans am but still here I am.

If I could have gotten a 16 2SS for what I paid for my 15 GT then I would have but GM raised the price to more than "I" think a 2SS is worth(I want leather). NPP and MRC are very nice options to have though.

I love mustangs and I stand by what I said. Everyone is saying measly horsepower this and not much lighter that. Ok but the camaro accelerates much faster (4 seconds to 150, an ass whoping) pulls more Gs on the skidpad, and gets better gas mileage. Um what part of the huge mustang fan in me is supposed to be happy? I'm using motor trend numbers by the way. Again, I hope Ford ups the power and puts that awesome transmission in next year, because they need to. When mustangs were beating camaros everyone was like yeah see mustangs are better! Now they will not be able to and everyone is like, yeah they are cheaper and that's not what they are meant to be! Smh OK then.

I don't think Ford purposefully held anything back, I just think they focused on the areas of primary concern (suspension, interior styling, exterior styling, and refinement).

They almost always do a "tick-tock" strategy with the Mustang, sort of like Intel with CPUs. Intel separates the process technology changes from the CPU architecture updates, in order to minimize risk. Ford has done this before for the Mustang as well. Changing the platform while carrying over the engines, then revamping the drivetrain while maintaining the same platform.

Yes, Ford does lots of carry over powertrain components with launches.

It builds in reliability, and reduces cost; one of the reason Ford sits on a pile of cash like Toyota, and the others don't.

Hopefully will have mine in a month. Having test driven a friends and an auto at a dealership I came away impressed.

Things I want:
HUD
Aluminum body to reduce weight like in the F150.
I wish it was proportioned like the 65 Stang.

Overall the car is gonna continue to be a hit.
I can see the hud coming, there is that crash avoidance, and GT350 shift light provision currently in the dash.

I highly doubt well see an aluminum bodied Mustang. I think we'll see a hybrid body structure in similar fashion to the Fusion Lighted weighted concept, as they come down the same line, and both cars would have to follow some similar tracks regardless due to body shop considerations.

Do you think the S550 is ill proportioned? They will never be like gen1, due to crash standards.

The Camaro is benefiting from a good flexed platform, and a large parts bin from the ATS V and CTS V, the Mustang doesn't have that yet...

You also want to keep life cycle in mind. That how you build well thought out, and profitable products. Not knee jerk reactions to Camaro, when they have put alot of effort into understanding how the Germans deliver performance.

There has to be competition. Did you expect GM to NOT beat the mustang on their brand new platform 16 camaro?

Ford will likely answer next year but cares. Spend on the money on what YOU want.

so what's the summary so far?

mustang advantages

better looks (subjective)
cheaper (not by much at all)
more aftermarket support
didn't receive a bailout from the gov't (LOL someone mentioned it somewhere)
greater visibility

camaro advantages

outperforms the mustang in every way
better mpg
digital speedo
apple carplay
tremec transmission

sucks to be me because i prefer performance and features over looks. damn it.

There is a pretty substantial difference in price for the way "I" would want a 16 camaro.

I'd want a 2SS because that is the only way to get leather, which is the driving reason for the damn price being so high to start with.

I'd want MRC, nav, and the dual mode exhaust.

Comes to 47k.

the difference for my base GTPP and a 1SS with dual mode exhaust is 1900 if i add my aftermarket catback exhaust to the price tag.

btw there's no need for navigation if you have an iphone. apple carplay is standard and it uses your phone as navigation. see a demo of it here [ame]

So...when are you going to trade in your mustang and go to the camaro forums?
