i got a 2016 ecoboost premium a few of weeks ago and now the lights in the bottom of the cupholders don't work. Anybody know what the issue could be or if i hit something to shut them off? The rest of the accent lighting is working.

Might have been a bad light. Just go back to the dealer and see what they can replace on it. I googled this for you and couldn't find anything.

I have a 2015 GT w/PP and mine has never worked. When I removed the center trim to change out my shifter I noticed that there is a electric plug for the lights in the cup holder but no wire plugged into it. So then I looked around for another plug thinking it was just laying there somewhere and I found one. The plug is sitting in a designated spot but not plugged into anything specific, just kind of tucked away. I removed the wire plug from where it was resting and attempted to plug it into the one on the cup holder but they didn't mate up. They look like they would fit but it defiantly doesn't.

I have an appointment later this week to have my cooling seat issue TSB taken care of and I am going to have them take a look at what I saw and tried to explain to you here.

weird. they have never worked? do you have the other ambient lights on?
yes all the ambient lighting works as it is supposed to. I used the opportunity to see what was going on under the cup holders when I removed the entire center trim piece for the Barton shifter install. Plug is there for power to the lights within the cup holder but no wire plugged into it. Just the rouge wire resting in spot off to the side and like I said earlier I thought "wow they just didn't plug it in.... let me plug it in" but they didn't fit together.

Bottom of the cupholders? Isn't that a rubber gasket? I have the lights at the top rim of the cupholders.

There is a rubber gasket there but also a light ring just above it in mine. Not at the top like you are saying you have on yours.

This could be a case where Vendor A supplied the car's harness, and Vendor B supplied the LED w/harness. But they each spec'd a slightly different connector. Ask the dealer if there is a TSB on this.

If the LED dims (yeah, I know, on a working car), and you verified that the voltage went up and down with the dimmer control, then it seems as though that is the purpose for the disconnected car wire harness. At that point it would be worth the risk to change out either connector until you got a match.

When you are ready to plug and play .. LEDs have polarity, so pay attention to that.

?? premium buy at $36K was a no brainer for me. great options IMO
As long as they all work/continue to work as advertised, anyway . . . which brings us right back to this thread . . .
