Ok, so FORD changed the name of their black, but is it any different?? I've heard different things, but not sure what to think. I have a black 16 on order, and plan on ordering Roush parts. I called Roush because they are still selling their UA part # black for 16's as well. Roush told me they tested the new paint, and it is the same black as before, and that FORD only changed the name. I would really hate to purchase 3k in parts to find out they are indeed different, if even only slightly. I'm sure the blacks are hard to differentiate in the shade or low light, but sun light would be the true test. Looking forward to some feedback

Tuxedo has "sparkles" in the paint. Shadow does not.

My wife's 14 Escape is Tuxedo Black. It is metallic. There are many different color flakes in the paint. I speak can't for Shadow Black but if it doesn't look like this it's not the same...

2015 Black (UA) and 2016 Shadow Black (G1) are exactly the same. Just a name change and a new paint code. There are absolutely no differences in the finish. And Tuxedo Black has nothing to do with either one of these colors.

I was going to say I didn't think tuxedo was offered on the Mustang.

When Tuxedo Black first came out I really liked it..it wasn't available on many models. At first I believe just the Fusion?

Anyway..as time went on Ford decided to put it on just about EVERYTHING, and that ruined it for me.

RIP Tuxedo Black.

Well regardless if it will or won't, I'm glad mine doesn't. I probably wouldn't have gotten a black mustang if it was going to be sparkly.

The Tuxedo black is a metallic black, looks amazing clean, and in the sun really shines. Had it on my 2013 Escape. That's the one thing I hate about Mustang, they never use a metallic black for them.

Thank you for everyone's input. It is safe to say that the new shadow black is basically the same black as on the 15's. I apparently received some bad information along the way that stated shadow black was replacing tuxedo black, but this does not seem to be the case. Roush's OEM engineers stated that there was not enough change if any to the new black, and that the 15 painted parts will stay the same for 16's. I am now confident in their judgment. I've always liked metallic if done properly, but the deep black looks great on the mustang. I've seen the 15's in black, and I'm relieved my 16 will look the same! Now back to the wait...

This is a close up picture of a 2016 mustang in shadow black. The matalic is subtle but it is there. 2015 black has no matalic. In person on a cloudy day you can't see it. In the sun or under bright lights you can. I'm not sure why so many people are insisting there the same when clearly there not.
