Has anyone had the Ford Perimeter Plus security system installed on their stang? I got a $250.00 gift card from the parts dept. when i bought my car from the dealership and want to get it but is the factory alarm that comes with the car enough? Has anyone had an aftermarket alarm installed on their car beyond the factory alarm? If so what brand and model did you get?

I installed this. My car is a manual, so no remote start. The impact/shock sensor is the only real upgrade. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't.

I'm not 100% sure yet, only had the car a week but I think one was installed on my convertible. The other day it was in my garage and I stuck my arm in the op[en window and the alarm went off.

That could simply the the ESP (Enhanced Security Package).

The 2015 comes with a passive security system. You have to add in the ESP to get motion sensors and electronic centre console lock etc.

I have no idea what this aftermarket Ford generic Perimeter system is. Sounds to me like it is the ESP without the centre console lock as a Ford aftermarket kit.

Other than the insurance break it may give you it's probably a waste unless you park it overnight in the ghetto. Most people ignore car alarms anyways so this wont help much.

What exactly does this add? Additional shock sensors?

This doesn't have two-way communication, correct? I believe you need the remote access app for this to have two-way communication.

How was the install? Was it plug-and-play?

I care about infotainment
That money would probably be better spent on a Dashcam w/ability to record front & back while parked

This sounds very much like the KARR alarm the dealer wants you to pay to activate.
It is pretty much the impact sensor part the ESP lacks.

Thanks for the responses. I was interested because i had $250 to spend with the gift card they gave me and i want to get an alarm but wasn't sure about this one.

I will pass on it and get a couple different things from the dealer and am looking into getting a Viper alarm like i have the last 3 vehicles.
