That's odd though because the 4.3" screen locks out controls based on motion as well? If it is not there then the 4.3" screen is using another method to determine vehicle motion.

To splice into the MS_CAN the easiest source would be the OBD port? The radio has to have some time of lead as well which would obviously be closer.
I think the lockouts are in the sync module.

Then a MS-CAN lead should exist in the sync module harness unless it is receiving its commands from the ACM.

Yes the MS-CAN should be in the ACM harness. Could tap into them there.
Any idea where that extra usb port goes? More curious then worried about it.

The 2nd usb is never used as I stated earlier.

And forget what I said about the ACM MS-CAN. There is a qualifier that says only for MFT equipped models.

I need to pull up the stuff for the mustang to know for sure.

Why have it if they don't use it? Is it just wired for charging then?

You would have to ask ford that. If you try to use a single port APIM in a 2013 or less with MFT 3.6.2 you will smoke the APIM though ;)

Dual port ones work with all version of MFT (so far).

Odd... Very Very Odd... Especially when the 2nd port is utilized on base model sync. Thanks for the info though!

For MFT the one USB port runs to the multi media center and that branches it into two ports.

Ok so the media center acts as a usb hub. Is this the module that fits in the glove box and also has the sd card reader?
