The in drive all the time issue should be a pin config. Or just ground the wire that controls it. Speed sensor I'm sure. Since manuals have same feature.

On screen ac controls: no big deal. Would be nice.

Sync? And BT? After drive issue wonder how operate.

Found only one for a 2015 mustang LKQ wants $500 for it. Screen and module. Problem is not returnable... I'm tempted.
It will still be far from plug and play. I only got it to power on because i had access to the service manual. Even then, it was slow going.

Wasn't one of the "complaints" on the premium models the lack of a method to turn off the fan without having to press through a few buttons on the screen?

If this ends up being compatible with Sync(3?)/BT, will modifying some of the pins and dremeling the base bezel to fit the 8" screen be the only modifications needed?
I got to the controls, they were just unresponsive.

If you want to use the base bezel, the only issue would be getting the screen mounted between the bezel and circuit board. That would solve most of my issues, but apparently im a glutton for punishment.

Think there is space between the bezel and circuit board? If not, would we be forced to "remote mount" the screen further out into the bezel (including extending the wiring if needed)?

I wonder if it's because it was a different model Ford though...?
Maybe, but i doubt it. They work on the canbus system so you would think ford would use the same on off signals across the board. The canbus signal for the screen on worked just fine once i snagged a high and low can signal. Its looking like a lack of wires in the harness.

Makes sense that it would be a ground wire issue. I am just going with a focus screen. $240 shipped.

Some focuses had no option for ac controls. Be careful.

On the subject of fitment, if i took off the apim and removed the digitizer from the housing it would slide in there.

There is space but I think the bezel will come out looking like the ebay unit. Raised portion around the screen to accommodate the thickness.

Really? Interesting.... I am going to be fitting mine in the base bezel so ac controls won't be to much of a concern for me.

Good point.
But different models and years, wouldn't surprise me for Ford to say have 3-4 different ones to cover the different vechiles and options vs one and program for the specific vehicle and options being tested... Or perhaps I'm way off in my thinking. This isn't my area of expertise.

Ya thats why i didnt go with one from a focus. Even their premium controls were external. Also look at how many usb ports there are. You may lose function in one of yours if theres only one.

Interestingly the 15 mustang screen only has one usb port.... The focus screens I am looking at have 2. My sticking point is that I want one screen with the VIN from the donor vehicle. That way I can get sync updates if needed.

Haven't done this yet... Thank you for trying this out! Please keep us posted on what you find with the in drive problem.. If this can be fixed then I will be pulling the trigger on a screen.

Pulling the screens from a "Pick 'n Pull" type place, or online somewhere?
