Multimatic provided this additional picture of the GT350R-Cs from Mosport.

Multimatic at Mosport.webp

They said it is from T1 or T10, but I think it is from just over the hill at the end of Andretti Straight going into T8. With the trees and the steepness of the track it has to be that location.

I like this picture because I saw the same scene in 67 with the original GT350s at Mosport and again with twin GT350s from Polito Ford in a vintage race a few years ago. Seeing those original two white cars coming over the crest of the hill leading the pack sent me immediately to my Ford dealer to buy my first Mustang. A 67 2+2 Fastback 289 4V Manual, which I proceeded to use up on every windy back road that I could find.

I can give you 76,000 rea$ons. I like the look of the Z/28 and the power curve of the LS7 but too pricy. Ford did awesome with the pricing of the GT350. Now getting a GT350 for MSRP may take some effort/time.

Rumor has it that the new Z/28 coming out will be a lot cheaper.

I looked at a 2015 Z/28 the other day that had a $20,000 dealer markup so asking price was $96K. A dealer in Cal has a 500 mile used 2015 Z/28 for $56K.
Weren't they being rebated $25K a few months ago? Who in their right mind would buy an almost $100K Camaro?

Yes.

They were.

Quite a few folks scorer s sweet deal while it lasted.

Apparently, hordes of unsold z28s were creating clutter.

It's a good car. But not for that price.

I don't know if the fire sale is still on though.

They were rebated from the $75000. Some we're getting them for $60000 which is a killer deal. IMHO the z28 was $10000 over priced.

Even as a life long Camaro lover I agree Chevy fucked up big time with that price. Great car for still being a heavy car with a stout engine but not enough for 75k. The camaro guys aren't as diehard as the Ford guys so I think that also played a role. Time for Chevy to step it up with the next one if they plan to do so because that 350/350r is a nasty bitch for the price.

The new Z/28 should be 65k tops for the loaded version, that is if they want to compete with the GT350.

No Chevy always has to be a few grand more for some dumb reason. Yesterday another reason why some jump ship to a stang. I highly doubt they offer another one unless the blend the zl1 and z28 into one car like the z06/zr1.

Having ZL1 and Z/28 at the same time never made sense to me, they are alike ( more apparent differences are: one is 6.2 with Supercharger, other 7.0 N/A, both are track oriented, other than that just prices and some appearance cues are different). The way I look at it, it would be much more logical to blend both into a single car under the name of ZL1 or Z/28 and give it a 60-65k price tag, and the GT350 contender is there. Not only it would take much less developement time and money, but also the car it self would be much more content, rather than having 2 cars that are more similar than different, now if Z/28 had been a more aggressive version of the ZL1, than it would be fine, but the way Chevy treats them, it is not so apparent.

Before I picked up my S550 I was behind a black Z/28 - thing was Sweet! The stance, sound, everything about it was just evil, but all I could think about was the $75k price tag before mark-up. They blew it, if that thing had been 10-15k cheaper brand new, the demand would have been what we are seeing w/the GT350...

The two cars are very different from each other. Both are good at the track, but the z/28 is a much more dedicated track car while the zl1 is more comfortable on the street than the z/28 is. Sorta like the gt500 and boss302.

The difference is Ford priced their cars right.

Chevy got it backwards. And the higher price as in the realm of far superior cars.

You'd have to have a serious die hard camaro fan to go for a z28 at a non fire sale price. Meanwhile the gt500 and boss 302 appeal to any performance enthusiast at their price points.

Also, I am imagine folks having a hard time spending so much more on a z28 that was SLOWER than a zl1 in measurable acceleration tests.

Ones more "track" while the other is more "grand touring". Both nice cars but one is really over priced.

I think they just could have eiter morphed both into one, or just make one a more aggressive version of the other. Sort of like Ford with the 350 and 350R (where price difference is not like of a ZL1 and Z/28). I agree, both are very nice cars and one is very overpriced, which is why if they make a new Z/28 it cannot maintain it;s price level, or the GT350 is going to be a steal.

The Voodo is far more advanced than the ls7. Ford released info stating that the GT350R will make more hp than the standard GT350. I wonder what the hp difference is?
