There's a lot more to volume in regards to pressure drop, end tank design as well as core type in regards to charge row leith, fin density, row height, and shape leading into the core as well as AIT temp control all affect pressure drop.
-Our end tanks are cast and internally are rounded and shaped to flow into the the upper core
-our header bars are round and flow more efficiently than flat bars
-we use a high internal fin density so a lot of the perceived volume is actually the heat exchange fins.
-our charge row length is shorter than stock
-the better an intercooler is at ait temp control the worse pressure drop it will have as cold air is denser and will ultimately have a lower outlet pressure due to lower temp all else being equal, this is the one aspect of pressure drop that one shouldn't penalize the intercooler for when looking at raw #'s.

We are shipping out a few of these this week so there should be some INDEPENDANT user reviews coming up. We will also be posting extensive data and welcome the same tests by our end users, our preliminary testing shows only a 4-8 degree temp rise over starting temp in a 2-3-4 gear run:headbang:
We have a few left available this production run if anyone is interested!

Where's the shop located in Marlton, Might come down and have it installed the same day I buy from you guys

You have charge pipes right?

End tank design aids in the filling and flowing of the core immensely. I have the Levels and absolutely love it, but if your horsepower goals are below 550 and you're looking to keep it stock'ish (AGS, etc.), then I'd go with the MAP. I ordered my FMIC two days after I bought the car back in January and the MAP FMIC wasn't even a thing then lol. Adam can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think MAP is working on a much larger core that'll support higher horsepower builds like the one I want to do (600 whp).

Yup, we are working on a race core for big turbo cars to support up to 900-1000. our core is good for 550hp currently, but with us shooting for 700whp+ we will need a bigger core.

We don't do installs but a local Mustang Shop Radical Racing does, he's located in Atco NJ and also has a Dynojet. Interestingly the shop is only about a mile from Atco Dragway so there's a few ways to test the intercooler if your interested... We are still in prototyping of our charge pipes and intake system but it is coming and its an easy install after the fact!

Intercooler is highly recommended, I tune 2-3 Ecoboost Mustangs a week and show them how they are losing power by not having an intercooler. It is THE second best modification you can do for your car besides a tuner!
Hey Adam! When adding the charge pipes to the intercooler I noticed you have a price listed as 900 for the intercooler, charge pipes, and bov.. Is there an option not to use the turbos smart and retain the stock system? I do not want the bov sound or bov in general I prefer to keep the re circulation

Thanks

I'm pretty sure Turbosmart has an option that can be recirculated. I think he'd be able to offer that as an option.

I hope so, I did the "disconnect re circ mod" and It reminded me on my supra which was cool but truly not what I had in mind for my new s550

If you want to keep the stock sound (with an intake) then you will want to go with the Plumb Back option on our website. This recirculates the BOV back into the intake just like factory!

Does anyone have real world IAT datalogs? All of the data I have seen has been on a dyno which is going to make the heat soak pretty bad. The highest I have seen on my car is 8f above ambient, thats a 20 min road course session, car is stock.

IAT doesn't measure charge air temperatures, it measures intake air temperatures.

High charge air temps result in reduced timing and reduced timing results in power loss.

Here are two logs, first one is a stock intercooler car and the second is a car equipped with our intercooler. Take a look at the timing curve versus the charge air temp. You will see that the first one comes up in timing then gradually tapers off, peak timing on this graph was before 130° Charge Air Temp. The second graph you will see timing goes up and up and up.

Both cars are on E30 and have the same modifications besides intercooler.

As you can see I'm able to run much more timing on the second car because of the significantly lower charge air temps. There is easily a 40whp difference between these cars because of timing alone.

Search around. I posted a datalog from an on track session using a Levels Performance intercooler. HUGE difference from stock.

To bad the gauges mode doesn't allow us to monitor charge temps in the car. That would actually be a very useful gauge when driving/ tracking

Another reason to buy an Accessport!
