Just add a 1/2 can of Boostane or Torco.

I would run more to prevent detonation than to avoid a reduction in timing.

what is you burn something higher than 93 octane. Will that hurt the engine. Not even talking about an additive but let's say 100 octane. Any thoughts...

As long is it is unleaded fuel it will be fine. Without tuning you won't maximize the potential of the increased octane but you will not hurt anything.

I bet dealers fill up the cars with 87 octane. It will run on 91 octane no problem just probably won't be optimal. I bet at the higher end of the tach on 91 octane it starts pulling timing and you will see the dyno plot get jagged up top. My E92 M3 did the same thing...

I blend 4 gallons of VP101 and it gets me to just over 93 octane. Not to mention the smell of it is wonderful.

Dave
Hey Dave where do you get the VP101? I'm down in Temecula, about 50 miles north of SD and roughly 80 miles south of LA...also I was about to pull the trigger on an E92 but once I saw the S550 and started reading up on it I quickly changed course. That E92 is one cool BMW - the best IMO! I'm coming from a E82 6MT, had my clock literally cleaned by an M3 one day :(
