If you noticed, Chevy is being very careful and precise with their wording about the weight and they haven't released the #s. I guarantee you the weight savings is on the 4 cylinder and that the V8/SS clocks in above the '15 Mustang GT.

The interior is just a tad too busy for me...it looks like they over designed it. They also took Audi's A3/S3 air vent designs and then it looks like took an '15 Mustang pre-design interior and modified it.

The exterior looks like a confused design. There are too many angles and lines running all over that gives it a very busy look, especially the back. The front and rear definitely look like a Camry.
This, it is hard to believe the weight loss claim, why not just announce the weights now? I think the interior looks cool, though the vents by the shifter makes no sense. The gauge cluster is so-so, I think the challenger has the best by far out of the three.

The chances are they have a few tweeks left for final production cars, thus can't give final weight. No different then the GT350. That was announced 6+ months ago and we still don't have any specs on it yet.

I don't think Ford has anything to worry about. It's won the most important battle - styling. The S550 looks like an exotic and performance is still close.

I think these two cars will compete closely for a few years and then Ford will debut some new powertrains.

GM doesnt have convertible ready for US launch how in world make you think there would be a RHD ?

You already know 6g camaro wont be taking UK order until mid 2016, thats just show you how far GM behind Ford.
I was referring to RHD Mustangs. LHD 2016 production starts in August and RHD models will only have a 2 month window for production. So what happens when they go out of stock? Too bad so sad try again November 2016?

Final gear ratio for the manual cars is 3.73 for the V8 and 3.27 for the i4 and V6. The Automatic is 2.77 for the V8 and V6 and 3.27 for the i4.
Thanks. I called it. I was guessing a 2.73 economy gear for the automatic for mileage and it appears to be a 2.77. Wonder if they will offer a 3.27 like we offer a 3.55.

Should be interesting if some dope pulls up next to me in his loaded out 2SS 2.77 geared automatic and thinks he is gonna lay the smack down on the poor little Mustang. There are already bow tie bozos thinking they are going to run low 12's or high 11's out of the box. No F'n way.

I've asked before I will again, anyone have the transmission gear ratios of the 8 speed automatic?

Found it:

Camaro SS Automatic 8 speed 2.77 final ratio

1 4.56
2 2.97
3 2.08
4 1.69
5 1.27
6 1.00
7 0.85
8 0.69

Now if these numbers are correct for the 6 speed automatic for us… (Edit: found the actual ratios)

1 4.17
2 2.34
3 1.52
4 1.14
5 0.86
6 0.69

With a 3.15 final ratio here is the math….

3.15 X 4.17 = 13.14 ratio in GT 1st gear (3.55 X 4.17 = 14.80)
2.77 X 4.56 = 12.63 ratio in SS 1st gear

3.15 X 2.34 = 7.37 ratio in GT 1st gear (3.55 X 2.34 = 8.31)
2.77 X 2.97 = 8.22 ratio in SS 2nd gear

Up against a 3.55 geared A6 GT the gap closes.

I don't understand what's going on over @ GM styling dept. They had a good design and just mucked it up. Too much lower end styling and that's why it looks cheap. Maybe they need to hire some Ford designers. If the exterior of a car doesn't get it who cares about the interior.

You're the 3rd Camaro lover that keeps bringing up the GT350 when we question why the weight info has not been released. Why does it matter about the GT350??? This was Camaro's day. But yet the report the MPG of the turbo 4 and don't know the weight? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Just like Ford did with the Mustang and its 6G unveiling. No weight info = not something they want to brag about unlike HP, TQ, interior, etc.

Exactly. If it was so great they would be yelling it from the tallest tower.

Yep. Could be the reason why the HP/TQ is so, so close to the Vette due to weight:D

I have to say it looks very modern and well built. The interior looks like its high quality with lots of soft touch materials and no bright shiny chrome pieces !! I see lots of brushed/matte aluminum type trim. Impressed with the ultra modern and efficient 8 speed auto.

I also like the fact that there are a lot more exterior and interior color options as compared to the s550 Mustang.

I'm still committed to getting a 16' EcoBoost, and I've never been a Chevy fan, however now I will definitely take a look and test drive the new Six Gen Camaro when they arrive in the showrooms !!

C - ya

If you got the cash to just buy a new car based on 20 HP have fun. in real world conditions, 20 HP and 200 pounds means nothing.

Unless you are Vin Diesel and you "live your life a 1.4 mile at a time", numbers like that are meaningless.

I buy a car for looks, how it rides, and the emotions it gives me. Not to say I have 20 more HP then the guy in the lane next to me.
I agree with you 100%! I like the new Camaro interior but the exterior styling is just not attractive to me. 20 HP and 200Lbs is meaningless to me especially since I have the V6.. I bought mine because I wanted affordable performance, great looks and a classic name that I love-I got all those things! It's more important to me to see that baby of mine in our driveway or turning around after ten paces every time I park her to know I made the right decision and that is far is THE car for me..

Yep...they are not revealing it and they are choosing their words carefully...just like a lawyer/politician.

I still cannot believe the back end on this car. There are so many lines and angles on the back..and the lights aren't recognizable. Makes the Mustang's rear look so elegant and sleek.

Did Ford ever consider putting the road runner 5.0 (Boss 302 Engine) directly into the S550? I know it shares a lot of it's improvements, but it doesn't have the 7800 rpm redline or the added horsepower (although it's only another 9).
