This is a serious question...

There are several designs that don't make it on most new cars. While being the super-spy that I am, I got a picture of this.

This is one of the original designs for the Cobra emblem for the GT350 (and GT500). As far as I know, the "Slippery Cobra" was axed.

You probably won't see this anywhere but this thread...

LIKE?

Lol!!! Someone made a joke saying "This was the lightweight version".

HA!!!

That's neat to see. Thanks for sharing!

We assume there is a MY holdup.

We are anticipating a 2015 GT350 and GT350R.

We were looking for VIR times today and a lot of Laguna Seca talk leading up to May 1st. These are two specific tracks it tested at.

Not sure about MSRP, submitted 1 April.

The GT350R is about as fast as a Boss 302R at Laguna and VIR. Seconds faster than a z28....

I said seconds faster...

The guys at VIR specifically said that it was a 2015 GT350, not a 2016. This is from the factory drivers we spoke to.

Can Ford keep the GT350 under $50,000?

A lot will change in the world if this is true. Hard to believe...

$49,995?!?!? GO GO GO GO!!!

Still $5000 for Track Package? Come on man!!!!

Question, will a $49,995 entry fee have a weight penalty on the Base car? I would think so...

Base GT350 is lighter than a GT, engine, trans (?), wheels and structure were Base savings. Not sure I agree with the transmission being lighter, maybe the same weight. Unless the Getrag is heavier now.

GT350R, mid-$60's?

Output: Last known... 532hp, 414tq

GT350R weight: 3550lbs (target). Budget dictates...

Here is the Re-re-re-re-retest. Long term Update Part: 10,000

Motor Trend discovered some unique technology on the z28. They claim it has hydraulic steering...

...what was that lap time again???

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/oneyear/coupe/1504_2015_chevrolet_camaro_z28_review_update_2/

I guess it's analog. It's a log alright, headin' up Sh~t's Creek with a turd for a paddle.

lol

That article...

Tried so hard to paint the z28 in a light of love for "old school, no-stinking-nanny-helping-me-computer, gearheads."

Guess they forgot a big part of the MR suspension [found only in "race cars", motor trend reminds us] is ran by ... A nanny?

And then they laud the "no computer for me" z for having a traction control computer to "sort out the throttle" for you... No kidding. At least they try to recover by explaining you don't actually "need" this computer and can turn it off.

And the power steering bit... What??

It's like reading the funny papers.

If they are crowing over the z28 like this, can't wait to compare it to the gt350 article they come out with.

Something tells me though, that the article is already written:

"Gm created the segment [boss 302 diss], randy probst wasn't confident about some portion of the car [which weighs more heavily against the Ford than the same complaint would have against the Chevy], probst again couldn't seem to put the pedal all the way to the floor, resulting in slightly slower time than car is capable, and again probst senses a slight difference with how fords MR shocks react vs Chevys and thus must take turns too soon or too late in order to 'compensate'" it will then wind down to ehivh car is best appointed. If the mustang is best appointed, it will be slagged with "this is what we true car guys hate. If the camaro has more tech, it will be "there's no excuse for the mustang to not be up with the times in terms of tech."

It's rather laughable and it's a running theme now for years. There is no set criteria. It changes with the car. And most importantly for those in these business deals... By the manufacturer.

The z is actually a great car on the street, just overpriced and not really a match for the zl1 or gt500 on the street, freeway, etc. but if you have the time to track it, it's s lot of fun.

And motor trend doesn't really need to resort to these kinds of methods to hype it up.

Hey, at least they admit that the interior is typical GM garbage:

"Hell, it’s even got the low-rent interior of those ’80s wonders (save the seats)."

The GT350 has been added to the IMSA CTSC 2015 Rulebook!!!

It is called the GT350R-C (Comp)

More info hopefully later on.

The Z/28.R has been dealt a lethal blow in CTSC. The LS7 now has a 65mm restriction (Boss was 57mm) and the z28 now has a 3575lbs minimum race weight.

I guess Championships aren't free in IMSA. Finally some justice...
