what oil are you guys using who have had the issues?

It's not an oil issue I changed mine out for rotela t6 but still leaked

I still think it a ccv issue. no reason for a BB turbo to leak like this

I believe a guy in the warranty TSB forum said a replacement turbo fixed his issue. Now was it the same smoking issue, I don't know. It's not hard to believe that a tiny gt22 being pushed this hard is failing prematurely

If that was the case then what's the CC for? The intake side of the turbo is dry. If I'm correct people with or without a catch can are experiencing this after a full system is installed. Not every EBM owners are going through this but a handful like myself

Guys my car Is stock and I had issues with the turbo. White smoke was pouring out and it turned out to be a blown turbo. Luckily the warranty cover it and they replace it. I had the car at the dealer for two weeks. I'm not surprise if these turbos will give out with all of the stuff people are doing to the cars.

That isn't how turbos work. They have a set amount of CFM that is controlled via wastegate, so a turbo isn't being pushed. The limits of the output of the turbo is being pushed.

He's referring to a tune... In which case they are running about 3 psi over stock on average.

The downpipes aren't causing the smoke, it's just that the cats are no longer hiding it.

this, also I got a feeling that after new turbo chances are the issue will be stillthere. too many people have it, I'm pretty much ready to chalk it up to be normal for these cars, I think most do it but with the cats go it just becomes more notacable. I'm not keen on letting some tech mess around with my car so I'm just dealing until more info gets out there

Just thought I would share:

I saw 2 different brand new 2015 f150 ecoboosts. The one thing i noticed right away was they both had smoke at idle and when on the gas. Not alot by any means...more like the smoke you see on a very cold morning from other cars. However, it was 55 degrees.

I saw a few weeks ago a post about early f150 ecoboost having this issue.

Stormtrooper, did you smell burning oil when you filmed your smoke..?

I had a little black smoke and stains on my bumper for a while till I changed to the cobb ots tune. I also noticed the stock tune was hitting 9:1 in full boost on the stock tune. Now with the cobb tune I am not getting any smoke or stains on my bumper. I wouldnt be surprised if this lazy smoke yall are seeing is fuel. Swapping the turbo could fix this on one condition and that is the turbo is moving slightly more air causing you to lean up a little more. I am curious as to how many of yall are actually seeing normal turbo condensation

This isn't black smoke or condensation smoke, the smoke present is a blueish tint & has a burnt oil smell to it which indicates oil burning...

I bumped the idle up a bit and did the swap to T6, and so far no smoke. One thing I did notice is these cars truly use a positive crankcase ventilation system....as in pop the oil fill cap, you get air blowing out. I checked another EB at the dealership, and it does the same thing. Makes me wonder if this is pushing oil pressure up at the turbo just enough at idle that it leaks a little. Crack the throttle, exhaust pressure builds enough to balance the pressure on the seal, no more leak. Anyone have a schematic of the PCV system on the EB? I'm really curious how the system design/function.

I'm assuming your smoke problems stopped when you got your turbo replaced? This still leaves a little doubt in my mind because I started getting the smoke the day I added my DP. Tomorrow, I am reverting my car to stock. I'll report what happens.
