I also worry about all the damn shopping carts hanging around in the parking lots of the big box marts. I think they only collect them no more than three times a day and I have seen so many just drifting down the parking lot. The other one that gets me is the lazy son of a gun who decides it would be better to shove their cart to the collection spot rather than walk it there.

I typically collect all the carts around my car that could possibly hit it on my way in. People are just lazy fucks.

This aggravates me to no end !!! I don't know what it is about people and their inability to drive, park or God forbid back up. People don't drive anymore they just point and hope for the best. I am sorry about all the damage you guys have received I hope they come out good as new.

to avoid minivans and any beige colored vehicles like the plague.
My truck is tan/beige. :C And it seems to collect impacts. It's been hit 3 times by hit and runs :/ Parking lots make me nervous in my 2015 GT, I'll either talk myself out of going in, or park so far away, next to another clean well kept mustang so no one else parks near me.

After the last hit and run, I got a dash cam that runs while I'm gone. I also try to park completely away from people. I hate it when people can't own up to their mistakes. No damn personal responsibility!

I park at the back of the lot. however this guy parked close to me and while I was getting out, I heard the familiar whack of his door hitting mine...no damage. I asked the guy to be more careful. was told to calm down...its just a car.
Wow, I would've bitch slapped that dude. Or at least cussed him out.

As for the OP, sucks! I HATE that.

Yes

Through the years, my cars have been hit-and-run victims three times. I've also witnessed it happening to others and have taken information down and placed it on the windshields of the victims' cars.

My personal rules are to always park at the far end of the lot (for exercise and to help guard against dings/careless idiots), and to avoid minivans and any beige colored vehicles like the plague.
I second this, QUOTE...... :headbang:

Sorry to see this OP! Unfortunately here in America, people seem to care more about eating hamburgers and getting fat than caring about cars. They don't give a flying f*** about others cars. It makes me soooo mad.

I park all the way to the end and some douche with a beat up van will park in my FU***G parking making it impossible for me to get in, when there is all the open parking in the world. One time this guy opened his trucks door against mine and started walking like nothing happened. I stop that ignorant asshole right there and made him confess. Luckily nothing happened.

Sorry for the rant, but i hate ignorant people that don't give a f*** or show any courtesy towards others.

I'm not sure if it's any better parking so far away. I always notice people who park in the back of the parking lot are loiters, on their cell phones trying to find the store in the strip mall and MANY times because of the scarcity of the cars in the back, they'll cut through the parking spaces instead of going through the rows. They'll also throw trash and cigarettes as this is generally the place where people loiter and take care of their crap business instead of actually parking and just walking into the store.

And here's the main reason why. If they hit your car in the back, they can just drive off because no one is watching. People act differently when they are being watched. If they even tap your car in the front of the store where there's people walking by and they are being seen hitting a car, there is a higher chance they will act more ethically due to not wanting to be caught. Social pressures a bitch.

Also I do take into consideration that the security cameras can't pick up the back of the parking lot. I'm glad the mustang's power outlet runs even when the car is off cause my dash cam is running 24/7 now. Unfortunately it only records the front so I would have to back into every spot to get a positive ID of the person if they hit me.

Whoever did this, and didn't stop or leave a note, deserves to be dragged out of their vehicle and beaten.

I wouldn't put much stock into security cameras outside big chain stores (Best Buy, Walmart, etc). They are absolute garbage quality cameras and dont have the resolution to see license plates. Even if you parked in view of one, chances are you'd just be able to make out the type/color of car that hit you.
