As you can see from my signature, I've been through a few mustangs. If you own a previous year car and you're thinking about getting a new one, all I can say is "believe the hype." Fundamentally, this car is better in every way. I agonized, strategized, and rationalized perhaps purchasing another '09 bullitt and swapping in the 5.0/6-speed drive train. I loved my bullitt and gave it up during a divorce in 2010.. bad move. Very glad I went with the new car.

For me, the mustang has always represented a particular type of performance (rear drive v-8) for dollar ratio that appeals to me. If I'm going to own a car that in many ways doesn't make practical sense, then it needs to be a good value. There are others.. the GTI for instance, that also do a good job in this way, but having owned one, it really didn't make me want to keep it forever the way my '03 SVT focus did. But... 1 toy at a time. Anyway, lots of rambling.

Bought a base GT. For years my cars have had leather seats and the last one a my ford touch screen... not a fan. The mustang is about driving, so I saved the $4000 for my own personalization of that experience. And I have a lot of experience at this point in what I do and DONT want to do to this car. Anyway, here's the first clay bar/waxing... 64 miles on the odometer. Mustang #13 and the one to keep till they take away gasoline

BTW, that's Steve Mcqueen watching over her in the garage in the last photo. couldn't ask for a better sentry.

Good luck making this your last Mustang. I've had 28 vehicles over 28-years of driving, and of those, I'm on my 12th Mustang. At this point, I would only be lying to myself to think this is my last.

That said, I can't wait to see what the future brings, and will always be eyeballing my next Mustang.

What wheels are those? They look completely different than my base model GT.

Yes, they are the optional 18" Foundry wheels. They are optional on all '15 Mustangs I believe.

Thank you everyone for the kind words. Yes the red finally won out.. partly because it was between ruby red and guard and Bowen Scarff didn't have a guard car. I went back and forth about the color so much that I finally realized it wasn't that important to me. I seriously considered TY for a while too.. that's a super nice paint. What I like about the red is that it's a slightly darker color that still shows that crease behind the door accentuating the hip. Silver does that really well.. so does white. But some of the other colors lose that shadow a little bit to some degree or another. For me, that's the best body line on the car, so after walking up and down the rows of colors, I realized the ruby red for whatever reason does a great job of showing that body line. Rambling again.

Yes they are the optional foundry (bullitt style) wheels. The anthracite and machined faces really look good with this color.

KN7671..I sat down and counted one day and realized I had owned more cars than years I've been driving. Kooky... :headbonk: I ready to slow it down a bit. My "03 Focus SVT I owned twice haha. Bought it back from my brother-in-law and restored it. That was a lot more car than the sum of it's parts. :ford:

Nice wheels! Think I've seen you around and your various Mustangs on other forums. Enjoy!

Nice car. Ruby looks very good in these pics. I agree with the price/performance thing, that was a huge pro for the Stang. Decent size front seats & trunk, enough tech & creature comforts, good design, stout trans (6R80) and engine, good steering/decent handling... what's not to love? (okay, there's no sunroof option - that sucks, but I'll live)

Thanks Tony. Yes you have. Funny note.. I'm originally from Lexington and lived in Covington when young. My dad's family lives all around the Queen City.
Dealer left the front license plate holder off at my request. Need to visit your how to page soon
