Ecoboost towing capacity?

I used to think towing with a sports car was lame...then I saw a few people that towed trailers with a full set of tires and a tool box for a road course track day... and that is

I have a jet ski as well but will just suck it up and tow it with the hummer on those nice days...unless maybe something easily removable comes out. Good luck :cheers:

I don't think you will have any trouble launching it if you don't go in too deep. My ski is only 400lbs so I could slide it on/off with the trailer almost out of water.

r u serious? the weight of the jetski+trailer would be fine, but...
Are you going to use always the same ramp and you know it?
what about its slope, and what if as usual it does get wet? ...rear wheels get in the water and ...shouldn't be a nice experience

I've seen trailer pkg with bikes attached to Mustangs, but proximity to water ...I wouldn't do that, but good luck....

I've dropped jet-skis into Lake Erie on a cement ramp. The amount of algae and crap on those ramps makes it feel like walking on ice. Not sure if I'd trust a mustang (or any sports car) to load/unload on that ramp. Granted, not all ramps are the same and some are probably better kept than others... but still.

i use to have access to a good ramp but ill have to look around now. the tires getting into the water is the scary part. i sure as hell dont want to slip into the water.

If you have an automatic it is a non issue. Especially if you have the rain snow setting to make your
pedal input softened.

If you have a manual transmission, then you need to be proficient at starting without spinning the tires , period. I am not sure how the hill assist works, but that should help you out too. just take your trailer and jet ski to an incline similar to your wrath, and practice stopping and going with a soft foot.

if you are not confident in your ability to pull out of the ramp without spinning the tires, put a small 2 by 4 block of wood under your out of water tire front or back to hold the car while you take your foot off the brake and apply the gas (Until you get confidence).

another level of practice, when you get to your ramp location, drop your trailer in the parking lot go to the ramp with your car and practice pulling up without the trailer / weight.

for that matter, before you even buy a jet ski and trailer you can always drive to your ran and play with: just pulling the car up see how you do at that.

I had a hitch on my 2012 gt before to carry my mountain bikes. its a small hitch and barely visible from the back. I probably will do the same for the 15 if a hitch ever becomes available.

The key is education and awareness. Of launching boat/jetski in general and of the specific wrap your launching on. You can go to your prospective launch ramp on a busy Saturday or Sunday morning or afternoon, and watch the experienced (and inexperienced) launch their vessels. You'll notice the 'to do' and 'not to do' actions. even before taking your car only down there on the ramp, you can walk down the ramp and check the slipperiness with the bottom of your tennis shoe.

You can even take a different rear wheel drive car to test on the ramp if you're new at this. People proficient at launching, can launch with most any vehicle. People that don't know what they're doing (and don't care to take the time to learn) should stick with driving a four wheel drive on a boat ramp. :headbonk:

On Youtube, you can view several receiver hitches being mounted on 2014 GTs.
On my first inspection of a 2015...the backup light is so low on the diffuser I can't figure out how they plan on mounting a hitch. The road clearance will be only a couple of inches.
If so, I wonder what will happen when you catch the hitch on the roadway or driveway?

Enjoy ripping the car from the chassis. Mustangs do not have the chassis for towing. If they had a better chassis, yes they would tow it.

If you can afford both a mustang AND a jetski, you can also afford a 500 dollar beater to tow your toys with. At very least, you can rent a truck from U-haul for 20 bucks for the day.

If you use a car like the ford everest, kuga, etc with a chassis able to support towing, you will be able to tow. Thats the only way you'll be able to tow with an ecoboost engine
