All subjective. I think the '15 is the best looking Mustang since the 65-68's. I love the styling on the '15. It just looks perfect in my eyes.

Everyone is different :)

I really hate to be one of those "if you [magazine] don't agree with my opinions, you're just biased or paid off by [competitor]", but MT has been the biggest dissenter of the S550 since previews have rolled out. They've had the strongest negative opinions on a relative scale.

They even had an article not too long ago about some great new 2015 cars you can buy with a manual; the Camaro and Cadiallac ATS Coupe made the list, but not a single Mustang trim did. Go figure.

They've been getting called Chevy Trend or GM Trend lately for a reason.

Articles like that are just written to cause controversy and get folks clicking on the site--the author probably wrote it while holding his nose and just thinking "pay check" It's just a modern way retelling of C&D's GTO vs GTO article from 1964.

Take these stupid reviews with a grain of salt! Especially the ones that have there desk jockies testing the 0-60 times 1/4 times and track times.. And anybody that gives this stellar cars a bad review is either getting paid to do so or lives under a rock!

Not surprised. A lot of people in the real world don't really like the new Mustang. I was riding with a non-car friend the other day and riding beside a 2015 and my friend was like "ewwww wtf did they do to the mustang?"

There are many things I like about Motor Trend, but unfortunately their writing and professionalism have been going downhill recently. It's pretty clear the author of this article has no background in art/industrial design, nor much of one in writing or research.

I don't mind a dissenting opinion from my own, but I would like to hear reasons for it. Many of the reasons given for disliking a design in this article are flat-out wrong. There are comments about some of the cars changing size or shape when that didn't happen. There are also discussions about aspects of the vehicle that are not shown in the accompanying photos. It then becomes clear that this was merely a click-bait article made with little thought. Poorly done over all unfortunately. Further, they got rid of the option to load the full article at once, and instead force the reader to click through 15 pages of article, each of which only contains a single paragraph of content.

Compare with articles like this, that actually provide useful areas of critique:
http://www.automobilemag.com/features/news/1402_2015_ford_mustang_design_analysis/
http://www.automobilemag.com/auto_shows/detroit/2013/1303_2014_chevrolet_corvette/

About half-way down the C7 article they talk about the design.

Anyhow, I expect better from MotorTrend, although those expectations are starting to diminish with more articles like this.

The only reason I read Cumberford's articles is to get myself riled up. Being a huge fan of transportation design, I find his opinions and critique really repetitive and short-sighted. He tends to focus on small-scale design elements like they're in a vacuum and ignores designs when viewed as a whole. He doesn't seem to grasp modern trends and most everything to him is cliche or excessive. His critique of older vehicles is much better than anything relatively new, in my opinion.

I don't doubt his credibility or his wisdom, but his opinions are not in with modern trends (and haven't been for some time).

I dunno, a '14 parked next to a '15 looks downright frumpy to me.

The S550 was the first Mustang in 20 years to make me want it immediately at first sight. Everything else has taken me a bit to adjust to.

X2. Until I saw the production model and heard some of its more technical specs, I would have never considered a mustang. Hard-core enthusiasts may not like it's European styling and more worldwide approach but to guys like me it made the mustang an approachable vehicle. I absolutely hated the 14s interior compared to my 7 year older vw. The 15 is a no long a straight line one trick pony (pun intended) it's a capable, stylish, and adult gt car.
