Is there any info on this? The boss 302 had the standard g-meter, accelerometer and braking. Too bad there's no mention of a forward facing camera to record and overlay performance data like the vette has.

The last thing I want is a camera mounted on the front of my car that the gov't could tap into.

You could always put a piece of tape over the lens.

I'd love to have something like the PDR in vette. If I end up getting a C7 I will definitely be checking that option box.

And holy crap that P1 is fast. It accelerates away from the new Z06 like it is standing still, which is no small feat.

Does that tinfoil hat ever get itchy?
We have no rights in traffic court. The laws are draconian in order for revenue generation to succeed. Why tip the scales any further? Do you think they wouldn't use the technology?

Pretty sure a warrant would be required in order for them to use the recorded data, and no one is ever going to pursue a warrant for speeding evidence unless you do something really bad... Plus, you can easily disable the recording and they would have no evidence to procure.

If your fear is that they'll take control of your recorder autonomously, there are already much worse things they can do with technology. When that kind of thing happens, it gets shut down very quickly. Like with the Macbook webcam. America won't stand for that.

Besides, the recorder could save *your* ass, too. I for one would leave it on all the time to record idiot drivers. It would have made the one somewhat serious accident I've been in an open-and-shut case in my favor with insurance.

It was a freaking *brilliant* move for GM to put the PDR in the Vette, and it's one I've been asking for for years now (so maybe "obvious" is a better word than "brilliant"). I think Ford should absolutely put something like it in the GT350. IIRC, they put something somewhat similar in a recent performance-based Focus, so I have some hope.

I agree. I can't imagine it would cost very much.

I wonder if this would be an option for a gen 2. Cameras are getting widely used now.
