Yes but for some reason I want leather and the other pp options, I did not have leather in my last sports car but for some reason want it and the toggle switches if I buy a new one...the little things..but if I buy it and all I do is fight with MFT ill be pissed.

You're not going to fight with MFT. It works fine, its just not as good as the new unit that'll be in the '16.

RIM also designed the Chrysler Uconnect software interface, which is currently recognized as the absolute best automotive UI. I would be ecstatic if my Sync worked as well and was as intuitive as the 8.4 Uconnect in my wife's '14 Ram 1500.
My wife has a 14 Dart with uConnect 8.4 and my Mustang has MyFordTouch 3.7. This is my third car with Sync but first with the touch screen.

There are some distinct differences between the two systems but the both work very well.

I like the home screen with MyFordTouch , shows you a little about the phone, nav, climate and audio. With uConnect you have to be on one of the screens.

The voice recognition in MyFordTouch works better. With touch I can say "call Deb on cell". With uConnect you have to do it in two steps. I have a real tough time trying to enter an address using voice commands into nav on uConnect, I usually just pull over and stop so I can type it in.

uConnect nav is much nicer than MyFordTouch . It shows photos of your up coming turn and displays the next turn in the center dash display.

My Galaxy S4 is not compatible with the messaging in uConnect but works fine with MyFordTouch.

I have not had any of the freezes or other issues that plagued the older versions of MyFordTouch but occasionally uConnect's screen will go blank, or the audio won't work but always seems to sort itself out without any intervention or needing to restart the car.

I certainly wouldn't wait to get a car because of MyFordTouch.

Anymore opinions on this fro MFT users, about the only thing that has hung me up on buying a 15...thanks!
I would wait if I were you. MFT is the biggest disappointment in this car IMO. I never had MFT before, but read bad things about it when it came out in 2012 I believe? I had hoped it had improved significantly since then, but it is really terrible.

I expected it to at least be as fast as my 2011 Fusion's Sync (no touchscreen), which I love and has worked great for the last 4 years. Of course it doesn't have as many features (Nav for one). I also expected the touchscreen to be like a smartphone or tablet when it comes to responsiveness and speed at reading your touches. That is not the case; it is super slow and I frequently have to press twice or more on the screen to get it to register my selection. Even the voice commands are slow and never seem to work as well as they do on my Fusion. Perhaps I need to learn those more, but it takes forever to get the Nav to take me somewhere. On my iPhone I can tell Siri to take me somewhere and it works pretty well. Also pissed that Sync brings in my contacts' addresses and will show it to you, but you can't navigate to them by name or even click on their address to go there...WTF! I've complained to Ford about this already.

I'm going to be scouting junkyards in a year or so to find a 2016 Sync 3 system that I can swap in....who knows if I'll get lucky enough to find it and how involved it'll be to swap it in...if not I may go aftermarket, but not sure how it'll work with the climate control. Either way it's going to be a huge headache. Kind of wish I waited for the Sync 3.

CarPlay looks fantastic (since I'm an iPhone guy) and I'm used to using the phone for most things infotainment, so it makes sense to go this route. I just got impatient and water this car now :)

Sync will grow on you once you get used to the quirks. I have been using MFT since 2011 and it really has grown on me. As far as swapping in Sync 3, according to some people supposedly in the know that I have spoken with, that would be a complete retrofit and a complete nightmare. None of the hardware and wiring is even remotely the same, according to others. I take that with a grain of salt but regardless, I know taking the dash and center console apart is a beast of a job.

Sync works great...MFT, not so much! :-) I'm pretty good with wiring and what not so I don't mind a good challenge, but still may not be worth it.

I'm eyeing the Parrot RNB6 as well, it looks promising and hopefully will gather good reviews upon release.

The current MyFord Touch is "fine", but I find myself trying to avoid having to use it due to how sluggish and buggy it is.
Aside from companies releasing aftermarket double din head units, whats the aftermarket going to to in the way of actually installing them? Are any companies working on double din dash kits?

What problems have people had with MFT? Other than manually entering addresses for navigation (which is so slow as to be incomprehensible), I haven't noticed it being laggy or anything.

I'd be REALLY leery of introducing new buzzes and rattles by doing the demolition work required to install a new head unit. You have to take the whole center console out.

You can do it by voice now.

It is very laggy for me. Compared to my Fusion which has basic Sync which is pretty snappy. For example, one of my biggest complaints is using the Voice button on the wheel. On my Fusion, if I don't want to hear the woman say her intro, I can hit the button twice and it goes right to the beep where I talk after. If I hit the button twice on the Mustang, it will do the same thing but you have to hit the button, pause, then hit again. If I hit it twice like I do in the Fusion is doesn't register both presses! WTF...the Fusion is 4-years old; I figured they would have this nailed down by now. Also, when I do voice command to play a certain artist, which I do a lot since I keep my music on a jump drive, I will say an artist and it doesn't always pick up my voice nearly as well as on my Fusion. Also, it never seems to recognize the artist right away, but will list me some choices on the screen and tell me to say the number next to the choice I wanted. Super-annoying, and also takes my eyes off the road to read it, which defeats the purpose. I guess I should start playing stuff on my phone and using Siri instead....:frusty:

Yeah I hate to introduce any new noises in the dash...my Fusion door panels were/are terrible since new, but the new Mustang seems really well built so far.

You can do it by voice now.
Navigation does suck, sometimes it works perfect from voice, but other times it has no clue what I'm saying. (Of course it is worse with the top down :)) Siri is much better at this.

GiddyUp I feel your pain. It is the most frustrating system. Near unusable on occasion. The multiple press thing not working annoyed the hell out of me today. I was trying to skip a few songs and the system only recognized one of my key presses. I used to be a developer and this shouldn't be this bad after all of these years.
