amsoil on first oil change

Do you guys think I should run amsoil on the first oil change? I'm currently at 1200 miles.

Did mine yesterday (2/7) at 1200 miles with Amsoil 5-20. Why? Because I could!

Was aware of the noise issue and listened for it. Didn't hear anything, but I only drove a few miles home after the oil change. If I hear anything untoward after my commute to work tomorrow, I'll report it.

Thanks. What I did was let it idle while talking to my neighbor then we heard it.

Could you describe the noise. A rattle? Clank? Buzz?

A dull rattle or knock I guess. It's on the drivers side between the engine and trans. Mine was loud enough to hear from 50foot away but others aren't as loud.

Changed mine at 1600 mikes with Penxoil Platinum 5w30, no noises, only thing I noticed is the oil pressure is running a little higher when warned up.

The slightly higher pressure is normal for 5w30
The only reason I noticed the noise was because I letbit idle for a good while.

Mine doesn't make any noises although I did take my oil cap off just to see the timing chains and see how well they were picking up the oil and I noticed the front timing chain kinda walks back and forth

I wasn't implying that slightly higher oil pressure wasn't normal. Was just noting that is the oil change i saw after my oil change. It happens any time you change the oil.

The viscosity modifier additives they use to make multi viscosity oil are hydrocarbon chains that have a characteristic that they coil up when cold and unwind when hot. This is how they keep the base 5w oil from from thinning out any more than 30w would at high temperatures. The unwound chains make the oil more viscus.

These chains get broken down with use so a 5w-30 at 7500 miles may only be acting like a 5w-20.
