You are a fool or a liar if you really think BMW makes cars from scratch here.

You don't get the difference between ASSEMBLING parts made elsewhere and shipped here vs MAKING FROM SCRATCH and it's either because you're dumb or have an agenda I'd say.

X5, X6 for example are 32% which is more than many Fords. As I mentioned above they are the ONLY BMW's made in the US (and then exported - they are not made anywhere else). They ARE made from scratch, not sure why you are finding this so hard when the figure is there in front of you? ALL of the body panels are made in the US from US steel at the Spartanburg plant.

Okay, I looked it up for you. A day 1 UAW employee working for Ford starts at $25/hr. Zero education needed, can come straight from High School.

3 years down the road, they are making $42/hr. And if they get into a skilled trade (Training provided by Ford mind you), they are making six figures, just a few years in. This doesn't include OT, or profit sharing, or bonuses.

I did see somewhere that the 'living wage' for the US is around $47 per hour when you have a couple of kids / house etc.

So around $100k per year before tax.

For car makers in the UK the gross salary would be about half that, but you also have to take into account things like pensions and paid holiday.

Very hard to compare with other countries without taking into account things such as healthcare, tax rates etc.

Sticker price of my '16 GT Premium non-PP was ~$41k. I think the Performance package would have been another $2500ish on top of that back then. Inflation has really made these cars difficult to obtain nowadays.

As I said earlier, my '15 stickered for $40,015. It's a premium with the only options being the PP at $2,495 (what a steal that was then) and premier accent trim at $395.

Depends on what you call "low cost of living area". That is my point though. I know a couple of families in that range as I live on the poorer sides of the town I live in. My kids bring all kinds of friends over as we're kind of "hood rich". LOL

They often times have no concept of what that is and how vast the differences are from area to area here in the U.S. I also find it interesting that the whole UK's GDP is less than the state of Mississippi and yet they have a seat at the table as well as a loud voice in international affairs, despite that fact.

You can buy a house for less than that including escrow here. Mystepdaughter's ex bf bought a house here a year ago. 0 down, and his escrow payment was $545/month. 2 bed, 1 bath, 1 car garage.

I was just posting what I had read and was not verifying the validity of the value. We have a living wage figure here in the UK, but of course things like healthcare, holiday pay and pensions are no additional cost here so adjustments need to be made.

Not sure why the second part of your post is there - adds nothing to the discussion at all.

GDP does NOT determine the value or authority of an opinion. Maybe our opinion is valued unlike those of some I could mention

Yeah that was MSRP on the sticker. Looks like base for a GT premium was $37k, then another $3675 and $900 for options and delivery. I don't know what the original owner paid (I just bought this thing from him last year).
