I really hope your experience is trouble free brother. Most of us aren’t rolling in money so we have to work hard and save for these types of purchases. I don’t mind saving and spending the money on quality parts, I understand if something breaks right out of the gate even though it’s extremely frustrating. As long as the seller makes things right, it’s all part of building cars.

I agree, the 90 days shouldn't start until the break in miles are done. I got my stage 2 Calimer in April and just finished my break in miles last week.

That is what I’m waiting to see. Their willingness to work with me and their attitude toward me and this issue will determine everything.

hopefully by the end of the week there is a solution and a positive way forward. If not I’ll be sharing me experience in a manner they most likely won’t appreciate.

We literally all watched you start it up not too long ago. For a seven thousand dollar investment they sure are not taking any sort of responsibility in this.

Man I’m sorry to get this update.

However, the repairs may not cost a ton. See what happens tomorrow they may have an update that will bring about a decent solution.

Hopefully it all works out

Hoping the best for you!

Don't want to hijack your thread, but we got my 4th gear "unstuck" by some higher revs and she dropped in place. Put another 200 miles on and no issues so far *knock knock*

Will never do business with them after seeing this thread. Don't care about the resolution. Who wants to have transmission issues, pay an ass ton of money to 'fix' it and then have to pull it right back out again? Nobody. Even if they 'stand behind' their products, nobody wants to trade a hassle for another hassle. Be professional. Build your shit correctly. It. Is. That. Simple.

Hopefully no more problems for you, and it works as it should.

Hoping the best for you!

New Tremec Magnum XL that supports DSRM and back up camera is only ~7000. Now that these are available, why would anybody spend anything to modify an MT82 is beyond me. If you are just daily driving and having some fun with the MT82 in your car, okay, but if you race the car and go to the strip like alot of us do, a Tremec is the ticket. I have already talked to Tremec and am working with a distributor now to purchase one for my Bullitt. I'll sell the MT82 to recoup some money. I am gonna drop a new clutch in there while I am at it and then, my Bullitt will be ready to hit it hard, well once I put the new half shafts in!

What‘s your plan for the Bullitt (stay NA or boost it)? T56 Magnum XL is gonna be a really nice upgrade for your Bullitt. What’s your best ET and MPH with the MT82-D4?

While the T56 Magnum XL is certainly an upgrade, it’s still not invincible (tbh, nothing is when pushed to or beyond normal limits). I recommend pairing it with a good clutch slipper to keep the sudden shock load at bay and help it live a long and happy life. Ideally, reworking and treating the internals would make it nearly bulletproof.

I emailed again this morning asking for an update after not getting one yesterday.

They said that indeed the 6th gear broke and they now sell a billet 6th gear for $500 or they can replace it with another factory Ford 6th gear if I wanted.

I asked them how much am I looking at to get the trans back to me with the upgraded 6th gear. Since I have 3.73 rear gears when I'm putting around or very light spirited driving where I am not winding out each gear, I typically shift into 6th somewhere around 70 mph, give or take, and I definitely do not want to go through this again.

They responded with, the gear is $500, we will not charge you labor as this was an unfortunate accident, and shipping will be $300. So $800 total to get it back to me.

Since it was the 6th gear, even though I never had a problem with my stock trans 6th gear, I understand shit happens, so we are going to give this another shot.

I still believe I will get a T-56 in a year or so, in the meantime, I will keep driving on this one and eventually get to beating on it to see how it will hold up.

they let you know the damage yet?

Well could've been worse, if it was my money I'd do the same. Hope you get a fast turnaround!
