Yours seems to sit much lower, lower even than even mine does if I removed the adapter (black ring). I left the adapter since it looks nice. But I contacted mgw with the video, they said it's normal movement for the shifter on a coyote motor. Might do the steeda bracket insert that stiffens things up a bit. (Mgw already mounts to the trans so the blowfish from what I know is a waste of money/time).
Yeah I took the collar off. Hence why I wanted the tall teardrop. I did the short one at first and it looked ridiculous.

I have a raceseng slammer knob and is 1.4lbs. Is chunky and barely get any movement on mine. I'm also running a racespec and not x spec MGW. The lower ones will def get more NVH. Id say is normal for direct mounted unit. As long as its holding the gears. Let her eat! I also did the shift weight delete. Highly recommend this. Next to the MGW, its one of the best things, I've done to my car.
Shift weight delete? Got any more info on that, first time I've heard of it

I believe if i'm not mistaken, the part you're refering too is the Steeda Mustang Shifter Base Bushing Bracket Kit All. If Im wrong just let me know and I will help you out more. But we do have our Memorial Day sale still active until May 31st. Save a little money while you can. Here's a link to the product. https://www.steeda.com/steeda-s550-...utm_source=6G&utm_campaign=zach-trans-bushing

This is what I was referring to, I'm not sure entirely what it does but my understanding is the much talked about blowfish bracket is more so for fixing the stock shifter instead of stiffening the transmission. I believe this is to make things sturdier and less sloppy but I'm really not sure as I've never messed around with bushings or anything yet for the s550 or any manual car in general.

I actually just ordered an MGW shifter. My reverse collar is a little sticky on my stock shifter and even with some WD-40 silicone spray it by helped temporarily. I had one in my 2017 GT and it was great. The stock shifter isn't that bad though this time around. The MGW is just still better, thicker, and higher quality.

You might have missed it, but you are on Mach 1 subforum. Mach 1 has Tremec TR-3160 transmission, and the corresponding MGW Shifter is the same one GT350 uses.
You are running a different MGW Shifter on a different transmission, so feedback you may get here may not be relevant at all.

You are correct. I installed the MGW shifter for the Mach 1 and GT350’s with the Trenec 3160 trans. My car is a Mach 1. I’m aware that some of the comments were not germane to my specific application but they are interesting to read, nonetheless.

As an additional note on my install, I ended up changing out the shifter stem for a longer one MGW sell and replaced the cue ball knob with a slightly taller cylindrical one. This put the shift handle near the factory height but with a much improved shifter mechanism. The standard MGW shift knob height was a little too low for my preference. It is now perfect.

Best mod I have made to mine. Was very very stiff in the beginning, but after about 3-4 days it was butter. Highly recommend, the engagement is just so much better.
