Thanks everybody for the ideas. My battery test checked out fine, so I guess I'll try the lube trick and see if it helps. If not, I'll probably just sell the car.

Please let us know what you come up with. My $ is on the actuator.

Glad I leave the valves open on mine 24/7 with the fuse pulled. I don't have to worry about them becoming noisy or slow to move. I want all the noise all the time. 🤩

If they get stuck fully open that is fine as well. 🤣

I do get the same error message since I have the fuse pulled. The error shows up every time I start the car as the fuse has been pulled.

Spray the valves with a nickel anti sieze spray compound. Good to 2600 degrees, Will be better than WD or penetrating sprays.

They make a plug in adapter that will eliminate that. Inexpensive.

Oh, really? Nice. I'll just deal with the error. Doesn't bother me at all.

Yes, use the fob to lock. And to block the fob's signal get a faraday bag.
Thanks for the response, but yeah I checked wiring and fuses. Nothing there. That's what's frustrating about it. Also can't explain how it corrects itself after a couple minutes each time.

I know you said you checked the wiring, but really give a good look at the passenger side harness where it connects to the actuator. They tend to rub against the sharp metal lip, and eventually short out. I had this problem, and I couldn’t actually see the cut until I removed the plug from the actuator. In my case it wasn’t blowing the fuse, and the message was intermittent. Good luck..

I've been having this issue for a while now, and it seems to be getting worse recently. When I first start my 2019 GT350, I get the "Exhaust Mode Selection Not Available" notification. I can change drive modes, but not exhaust. I've researched it and scoured the forums, but nobody seems to be experiencing quite the same thing as I am. Let me explain...

This only happens on a cold start, and it goes away after a couple of minutes of driving or idling. It doesn't happen on subsequent startups, unless the car sits long enough to completely cool. For example, when I drive to work it will happen in the morning, then again in the evening when I go home. However, if I'm out running errands with multiple stops, it only happens on first startup.

I just can't figure what would cause it to malfunction this way. I've inspected the actuators (stock) and all looks good. No wiring breakdown or anything out of the norm. I don't know what else could be happening. If anyone has any thoughts, please share. Thanks, and Happy New Year!
Have there been any modifications to the exhaust system or any work that would have required the exhaust to be removed?

Did you get the OBD code as TonyNJ stated?

I had this problem with my GT mustang for several years , i had the dealer fix it supposedly but it came back.I checked wiring but to no avail the problem would surface again after a drive or two. I then looked at the fuse box. i changed the fuse and pulled and reinserted the relay next to it and have not had a problem since . Five years of it annoying me gone in a few seconds for the sake of a new fuse.

The problem is seemingly solved. I almost don't believe it, but a few drops of lube on each valve pivot point did the trick. No issues for the last 3 startups. Hopefully it's that simple. Thanks again everyone for the tips.

Its a PB blaster type spray I use for the garage door rollers. Just what I had on hand at the time. 4 months in and the issue hasn't returned. If and when it does, I'll look for something more suitable to high-temp applications. But for now, it's working.

Silicone spray? I’ve got some of that I’ll try. Are you just spraying it literally in the muffler all over that butterfly valve? Or are you just trying to hit the top and bottom pivot points of that butterfly valve inside the muffler? Thanks!
