FORD GT BREAKS NURBURGRING RECORD!!
Sponsored
Lots of people care. Especially those interested in tje street legal topics mustang. Especially with the recent Ring runs as we await official results and see what the new car can do.Who cares if it’s not street legal? Ford and Multimatic showing off their capabilities, it’s pretty awesome to see.
The street legal GT is no slouch either and one of the most beautiful cars I’ve ever seen. This is fun to see, regardless of manufacturer
Nobody said anything about moving goalposts. An American OEM set the Ring record for an all gas engine vehicle. It’s a great accomplishment. And it just so happens that the ZR1X was run as the same type of car as the Mk IV GT. A prototype/pre-production car. They had to bring a race car to beat the street legal cars that GM kept slapping everyone with.
Gotta love it. Goal posts moved.
neither is the euro mustang. And the USA GTDisn’t street legal THROUGHOUT Europe. Only in some areas, with testing and spec chsnged ongoing to fit the standard - hence the euro spec Gtd at the ring.amg one isn't street legal in US![]()
yet it IS. A production car built for the streets. Nothing like the mark 4, which is s completely different conversation. Otherwise ford wouldn’t make such a stink about tje Gtd. The whole point is thst it’s a street legal production car. Just like the zr1. And amg one.Nobody said anything about moving goalposts. that’s the reality unfortunately. Biding time until the new Gtd is official. Hopefully GM doesn’t come out with something else before then. They had to bring a race car to beat the street legal cars that GM kept slapping everyone with.

I agree with you, but--while factually true--it's a bit disingenuous to mention that the Mk IV GT and XR1X were in the same category. One is a street car that is simply not-for-sale in the EU, and the other is a track only car with no pretense of street use. They're massively different, IMO.Nobody said anything about moving goalposts. An American OEM set the Ring record for an all gas engine vehicle. It’s a great accomplishment.
