Anyone know where to source the 3 hardshell connectors and pins? I would prefer to just cut the wires and repin the connector instead of 80 butt splices.

For various projects I’ve done where I needed OEM connectors and/or terminals, I’ve google searched the numbers on the connectors and hoped to find it on mouser.com or wherever else.

One thing I’ve found with various connectors in these cars is the terminals tend to be off the shelf, like something from Molex, inside of a proprietary connector made by someone else like Delphi or something.

Allegedly they are Aptiv (company formerly known as Delphi) Micro 64 C1551 series connectors but I can’t find them on their site and other places like Mouser and EFI Connection that I’ve sourced connectors before.

Eric at NextGen have any ideas? Might be able to get the hard shell connectors from a wrecked Mustang then the pins only should be easier to source I’d guess.

Have you tried these sources:

These below links may also help you find the plug or connector. I have no affiliation with the below businesses or know of their business etiquette, just passing along the info.

The connectors are Molex. Ford buys them, attaches a Ford PN to them and resells them with a Ford part number. The connectors have numbers on them which identify the Molex part number. Buy from Digikey and avoid the Ford markup.

I found them at Connector Experts but they are special order so they are just sourcing them elsewhere and marking them up. At least I have a last resort if I can’t find them priced better.

Thanks for the kind words, appreciate it!

I just try to help where possible and provide guidance where needed. I put myself in many Requestor’s/Poster’s position that it it were me asking the question or needing help for XYZ, that someone would reciprocate and help if they could. :)

UPDATE: The part number is here is close but no cigar! Back to the drawing board.

Turns out the connectors are Tyco AMP/TE Connectivity. Hard to find now, Mouser etc have all removed their listings. I did find one that is a -3 instead of a -7 but no luck on the transmission and body connectors. I’m going to label each wire with heat shrink labels and repin the original connectors. (update 2/13/26 These are NOT correct) I ordered terminals 638551-1 (18 awg) and 638551-2 (20-22 awg) from Mouser. They seem to match the OEM terminals.
