I know that’s why I included GVWR. There’s a version with rear seat delete and carbon fiber so it would be safe to reduces a few hundred pounds off that 22 GT500’s 5050GVWR
It's gonna be heavier than the GT500. They proved there is only so much weight to save with the GTD, which is the pinnacle of Ford engineering. The S550/650 chassis is still steel, and short of making the entire car out of aluminum and CF, when you start with a heavy chassis, you're chasing your tail from day 1.

And there are still a lot of open ends on other heavy items. Are both cradles aluminum, or just the few bits of suspension that bolt to them? It's a MR car, so we know shocks and springs are HEAVY. We know Ford is notorious for making undersprung cars, so we know the sway bar is bigger than it needs to be.

I think the only meaningful carbon add was the wing and the rotors. So maybe 50-60 lbs less than the 500 in bolt ons? BUT they are starting with a way heavier platform.

Based on what?

There's no real reason it should weigh more than the old GT500
Of course there is. The current DH almost weights what the 20-22 GT500 weighs and now you are adding a heavier engine and heavier trans to the mix. It's reasonable to assume it will weigh more. They will compensate by adding a little more HP. I expect the numbers on the two to be close to same with the DHSC slightly faster.

If the DHSC is around 125K, I see it not selling well. That's Z06, and reasonably used 911 Carrera S territory. I would expect people will look for a 20-22 GT500 and dump some cash to get over the HP of this thing, which will not cost that much to do.

Dark Horse curb weight 3975lb

GT500 4225

So it's 250lbs difference

The track pack GT500 is even lighter

I know it was just a dream but I was hoping for some drag oriented version, possibly with the 6.8 or 7.3. I'd appreciate the extra torque and something different than the coyote. Even if they had drag version of the GT with the coyote but some lightweight pieces like cf driveshaft and different torque converter and a cool graphics package. Wouldn't have to be super expensive. Make it an option on the base and premium GT. Everything with Ford these days is "track oriented" and they are trying to beat the exotic brands. For most of us that is way out of our league and not something I'm interested in.

Personally, I am disappointed/surprised they didn't call it Dark Horse Legend. They have stated they want to create a new era of iconic versions of the Mustang and the 'Legend' name (I believe was being used to describe an engine)kind of ties the two thoughts together. Adding 'SC' to the Dark Horse name is unimaginative and not adding to recognition.
Or maybe Dark Horse Predator, since the 5.2 engine is called that.

This. I keep hoping for a ~7.0L knuckle dragging street brawler too, that you can add as an option package to a GT. But knowing Ford, it would be a separate model that gets overhyped and overpriced, and the dealers can gouge on.

Meanwhile, I'm still trying to figure out where that promised Corvette Killer is that we were teased about.....

Didn't everyone shit all over the gt500 because it was DCT only? Now it's seems like everyone jocks it. People will get used to the Dark Horse name especially when the performance outpaces the gt500. Most are resistant to change. Happens everytime a new body or version comes out. Everyone gets used to it in time. Many Gt500 owners will move to the DHSC, I mean why have that much money wrapped up in #2?

The carbon brakes are ridiculous. What are those going to cost for an option?

My Audi buddy is always talking about how his rotors are $6k each

Look at that 10-year-old GT350R still holding strong. /flex

So, it comes down to the driver, those times are so close.
Not to mention, the GT350 was never a drag car.

But let's be honest, that Z/28 was a BAD ASS Camaro. It was a full generation ahead of the S550, and still a dominator on track. I still want one, that I can park along side my 350.

As for the DCT, did anyone ever crack the tuning on it?

PCCB's on GT3's are a $10,370 option. Won't be more than that given how Porsche prices are.
