It's gonna be heavier than the GT500. They proved there is only so much weight to save with the GTD, which is the pinnacle of Ford engineering. The S550/650 chassis is still steel, and short of making the entire car out of aluminum and CF, when you start with a heavy chassis, you're chasing your tail from day 1.I know that’s why I included GVWR. There’s a version with rear seat delete and carbon fiber so it would be safe to reduces a few hundred pounds off that 22 GT500’s 5050GVWR
And there are still a lot of open ends on other heavy items. Are both cradles aluminum, or just the few bits of suspension that bolt to them? It's a MR car, so we know shocks and springs are HEAVY. We know Ford is notorious for making undersprung cars, so we know the sway bar is bigger than it needs to be.
I think the only meaningful carbon add was the wing and the rotors. So maybe 50-60 lbs less than the 500 in bolt ons? BUT they are starting with a way heavier platform.
