Are the mustang cooled seats ventilated or actual AC seats?

The air cooled seats in my 2022 GTCS are very cool to the point of being too cool on some days and I shut it off. The fan speed for the main AC unit that delivers cool air to the dash vents directly controls the fan speed for the ventilated suede leather seats both bottom and back sides. I just assumed it was the same compressor that directly delivered that cool air. You learn something every day.

"I REALLY love the cooled seats especially since I am in Texas now & they are a must in the summer."

CLOTH SEATS ... They never get hot in the summer, cold in winter & yer ass doesn't slide from one side to the other when cornering like leather/vinyl seats. And it's a 'no-cost option' . What a concept ...

Back in the 60's, a whole lot of people covered those in clear vinyl.

Having a convertible, I knew the cooled seats were independent of the A/C, and having a convertible in Mike's video makes sense on how they work. They are not the coolest seats in the summer with the top down, but they are better than nothing.

I do not have cooled/heated seats in my base GT, could i pick up a used set and install them?

How DIY friendly would that replacement be?

The video was interesting. It also explains why when my cooled seats are on, the backside of the seat gets warm as F. Front passengers get cool seats while rear passengers get toasty shins and knees.

what year? Unless 2020+ unlikely since at the very least you don't have the wiring harness. Not to mention you don't have the console buttons that turn on/off the fans and elements.

Katzkinz has a true cooling option. They told me it was a separate device installed that cools vs OE that sucks ambient air.

They were wrong. OE doesn't just suck ambient air. It has that separate device, too.
That said, these Peltier devices don't actually do as much cooling as the blurb may suggest. They do get cold, indeed, but only to a limited degree. The sucking of the cooled air that the A/C system delivers below the seat is much more powerful and does most of the job. The TED is just icing on the cake.

Cloth seats soak up sweat and all sorts up body excrement and end up smelling like ass . Give me the cooled seats than can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth anyday .

Or quickly dried with a towel when you get caught in an unexpected storm doing 80 on an interstate with the top down 🌦
