By most accounts, there is very little cooling in the seat back. I can't even feel it.

Thanks. Just wanted to be sure nothing is wrong with it.

I can understand the seat backs not cooling as efficient as the seat cushion. My back covers pretty well all the leather perforations that allow the cooled air to pass, giving the feeling it's not working. The seat cushion has some leather perforations exposed between the legs close to the front of the seat allowing the cooled air to escape helping the cushion to cool faster.

They basically suck. See the 8 mile long thread in the issues and repairs subforum "cooled seats not cooling"...

Mine works; but you need to let it run without being pressed into the seat. Same with the bottom.

I'm happy as can be with it actually is *cooling*, my previous vehicle it was just vented; so it blows whatever ambient air through the seat but Toyota called that "cooled". Of course i bought the vehicle in the cooler months and didn't realize it. Yay.

Are you sure?

Because my '14 Tundra Platinum had what they called "ventilated" seats. And they worked about as well as these "cooled" ones do.

Now, if I really need to see how cooled seats are supposed to work, I hop in the Lexus. The chillers in that thing make a difference in Texas summers, and the heaters are hot enough to BBQ on.
