I gave up putting HD chemicals in the Kwazar's, Shine Supply Wise Guy in particular was nuking them in short order. With the Pressol's, I purge the chemical back into the bottle and pump clean water through them. That seems to keep them alive.
Yeah I've got wise guy and brake buster in ik bottles with cheap spray heads. I definitely will be purging the Pressol heads ADS wheel especially.. I have it 2:1 whereas wise guy is 1:1. I have clean 10:1 in the Pressol so I figure it will be OK. 4:1 still in an IK bottle.

The ADS wheel cleaner should be fine, but definitely the tire cleaner. I've had Koch Chemie Green Star in a Pressol with the basic "household" spray head and its been completely fine over many years now. So I guess its not outright alkalinity that kills spray heads, rather the type of alkalinity.

I’ve had the pro bottles for quite awhile now and have only had a few issues. BH Trace-less doesn’t play well with the seal. However the latest idea is to use the standard heads so I’m trying that to see how it goes. That being said the BH spray nozzle does fit the Pressol bottle threads.

ADS Ghost also gloops up the nozzle and tip requiring a rinse of hot water if it sits too long.

As for the browning, it’s very minimal. I’ve had brake buster in one for months and it has a slight tinge of brown, but it’s not blatantly obvious from 10 feet away.

Other than that, out of my 15 bottles full of chemicals those are the only issues I’ve had. Matt has stated many times the German owners of Pressol move at a snails pace hence the long wait to get the pro series. But he’s also been very transparent with issues people have found and has told everyone that this is a chase to perfection, not a perfect solution.

Bradley with ADS specifically says Ghost is supplied with a standard pop up squirt to online. Maybe a spray head at one time but they learned quickly. I also find a squirt top much more efficient with Ghost on a MF pad.

As for the Pressol units I'm excited to try them. I got mine all filled up but have not had an occasion to use them yet.

I've never had any issues with GS, Gyeon apc, or Multi star either. Waiting to see how ADS Clean does. It's supposed to be less caustic. But it still triggers my cough reflex just like most highly alkaline cleaners.

I'd remove the sprayer and put a pop-top on it, those spray heads are too expensive to keep ruining. The new squeeze bottles would be ideal for Ghost, I just wish (hope) the local Pressol dealer would stock them.

The fluorination has certainly created a slight milkiness to the clear bottle. The v1 are clean and clear, the new ones are ever so slightly yellowed.

From what Matt has said in the past, these spray bottles were never a major product line for Pressol. If you look into their company, the focus is on lubricants and other plastic products. That is why they have been so slow to respond, these bottles are (were?) not a priority. No doubt the language barrier slows thing down too.

Pressol

Having watched the whole Pressol project over those 6-years, you have to wonder if all that effort would have been better put towards his own bottle and sprayer, then have them made in the USA. That way changes would be quicker, while having control over production. Now, in the past he has spoken about that process being a very expensive endeavour, but he said that several years ago, basically at the beginning of the point where he decided to work with Pressol to improve the basic product.

What sucks for Matt though is he is the face of these bottles, he's done the development, he's done the promotion, he's taken the hit when things have gone wrong. And at the end of the day, he doesn't have exclusivity on them, just a small royalty payment when the Pro Series are sent to other distributors.

Not directing hate here, just my observation having watched just about all of his videos, listened to most of his podcasts, paid through the nose to have some of his stuff sent to Australia. I'm currently wearing an OG shirt too.

Ghost doesn’t ruin them, it just gloops up and has to be rinsed out with water. I have pop tops but I don’t think they’ll work well on the standard bottles. If I have any need for another order from OG I might grab a couple squeezers.

I’ve seen other big name retailers also talk about the cost to bring a new item to market. Just the tooling alone would be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. OG sells a lot of products, but they make pennies compared to companies who can afford to go through that process.

This leaves them little recourse other than to work with other companies to improve their own products. So they are at the mercy of whatever schedule is in front of them unfortunately.

My friend is out of town for the weekend so I am going to do a quick rinseless wash, prep wipe and apply Phobic over his Ethos Matrix coating. Did a deep Decon wash a couple weeks ago (lift foam then contact wash with descale, clay towel with Purify) and the Ethos is not holding up at all so I want to apply Phobic to boost til spring when I will hit it with essence and ADS Quartz. Really a shame as the coating on the car is less than a year old.

D, I know that you like the double action heads and I think I've mentioned previously that I'm not a fan. Too many years of muscle memory with single action. I've tried Matt's V1 Pressol and have a handful of Kwazar Mercurys but neither brand has been reliable for very long. Maybe it's just my karma. <grin> To make matters worse, they are both stupid expensive for what you get, at least IMHO. I'm no tightwad and I am very good at spending money <laughing> but I'm done with these $25 and up spray bottles.

So, I'm gonna try a 12 count of Tolco 320CR's ($30 on Kamzonski) but 1) I can't find the diameter of the pickup tube connection. I'd like to buy a roll of the correct diameter silicone tubing and if possible, add someone's weighted pickup filter but haven't found those yet, either.

Anyone know what diameter tubing is required for Tolco heads? Ditto for a pickup filter source?

I plan to use any old bottles I have in my stash box. :=)

Or am I wasting my time with this goal?

On a different subject, I gave the Mustang a bath on Thursday, just a normal wash and the next day I decided it was time to give her that light polishing I mentioned. I've already started taping her off but before I get further down that rabbit hole, I thought I'd ask if I should have done a full decon wash? The CP CQuartz coating is four years old so I can't imagine that there's much left.

Do you think that not doing the decon wash will adversely affect the polishing effort? (Perfect Finish + Rupes White) I only have the glass and mirrors taped off now which I can easily pull off if you think I'd be better off going the full monte on decon to include claying? I never feel any contaminants on the paint and my brain is telling me that claying will bring on more marring to polish off? Your thoughts along with anyone else who cares to chime in.

Thanks in advance.

PS. I forgot to ask earlier, what in the world did you do to that second image of your gorgeous new ride? <smile> Some sort of "filter" on your phone perhaps? I don't do any editing on the phone so I'm not at all aware of what's out there but I sure wouldn't use that one again. <bigger grin>

I would say if the paint is still smooth (no gritty contamination) and clean, a full on decon wash is not necessary. I usually do it if possible but normally on vehicles that are driven quite a bit. On a vehicle like yours that is a garage queen, probably not necessary. Especially if you used Reset for the last wash, it is probably the strongest "PH Neutral" soap I have ever used.

Well, Rinseless wash done, prep wipe performed, Phobic applied. I must say I like it. Very easy to lay down and level off. Time will tell how well it works, if it just lasts a few weeks or months, it will be worth it...

Thanks for the note Alex and you were probably correct, she probably didn't really need it. HOWEVER, I was fairly sure that El Jefe would have done the decon had Sarah been his garage queen. <smiling> Decided to bite the bullet, pulled the tape and paper off, and parked her in the usual wash spot.

Since I was gonna go full tilt boogie on my girl, I decided to give the engine bay some lovin' first. Covered the few electrical connections, fuse box, etc., with Wally World bags and a few with aluminum foil then sprayed everything including the underside of the hood with heavily diluted Green Star after which I agitated the snot out of all the nooks and crannies with a detailing brush.

Let that sit for a few minutes, dialed the Kranzle down to 500psi and rinsed everything, removed the bags and foil, and fired her up then let the motor run for a couple minutes. Pulled the air compressor hose out and used the big blowgun until everything was dry. Finally, I sprayed some P&S Rinseless on all the black stuff and let that dwell for a bit while I got the foam cannon, buckets, and mit ready. Finally, laid three bath towels over the entire bay and let the hood down. I had already removed the hood vent so the towels were necessary to keep from soaking the motor again.

sarah-engine-bay-detailing_251213.webp

Decided to hit the wheels and brakes with IronX, waited a few minutes then began rinsing and holy crap there was a ton of red water on the driveway. I freaked out a bit as I was close to the grass bordering the driveway and had to hustle with the pw to push it back to the center of the driveway and away from my precious turf! <laughing> I'll bet our resident chief cook and nursery manager will understand my affection for the green stuff. I should have parked the dang car much further away and I paid the price as it took me a good ten minutes to fight the grade and get most of the IronX pushed back.

I hadn't used the iron remover on the wheels in quite awhile and despite only driving her occasionally, I was quite surprised at how much came off the wheels, pads, and rotors.

Once that was done, I gave her some thick OG decon foam, let it soak for a few then got after the washing.

sarah-decon-wash_251213.webp

Gave her a good rinse to remove all the suds then did the usual low pressure rinse with CR Spotless water and pulled her into the garage. Fired up the Max Blaster and dried her off then took her for a spin around the block and warmed the brakes up nice and hot to avoid the dreaded stuck pads.

Left her in the driveway out by the street and commenced to blow the leaves, cobwebs, etc., out of the garage then rinsed the floor with the Kranzle. Squeegeed (sp?) the floor dry, put all the stuff back in the garage including all three vehicles and called it a day, I was bushed.

Tomorrow I'll get back to taping and papering to get her ready for a polishing session which will probably take me a couple three days since I have multiple medical appointments starting Monday that will get in the way.

Leaning towards not giving her another coat of ceramic but may give Phobic a shot, (thanks for the reminder, Alex and please report back on your findings.) The car gets sprayed with Reload or Amplify after every wash so I'm not sure I want to go to the trouble of applying a dedicated ceramic coating, too.

Adios, muchachos, enjoy what's left of your weekend, and sorry for the long-winded post.

She’s looking good as always, KB. I’m going to be an ADS pimp here and highly recommend applying ADS Quartz (or Pro) coating. It makes washing so much easier. Now, if you’re one that likes to break out the ole polisher fairly often, I would say keep doing what you’re doing currently. While I enjoy getting around the car with a polisher, the ease of washing with a coating has got me hooked. ADS Quartz has been really good so far. I previously had an Ethos coating and it made it about 2.5 years (the winter salting is pretty harsh on coatings here).

Anyhoo, figured I’d throw my $0.02 out there if it’s any help
