I am about to pull the trigger on a Cervini stalker hood, but the fiberglass quality and fitment gaps have me pausing.

Is there a quality bolt on hood scoop that anyone could recommend? I would like to avoid plastic, and I will have it paint matched. I also plan on cutting the hood open to make it functional.

TLDR: I don't have an answer to your question but please don't cut the hood open. You'll only make it worse.

If this is for aesthetics, sure, whatever floats your boat.
But how would this be functional? The air intake for these cars is not on top of the engine like carbureted engines so that notion is out. All the heat exchangers are in front of the engine so cooling is also out of the question. You'll be forcing air into the engine bay with no clean exit, thus creating lift, so downforce is also out.

There is no functional benefit to doing this.

That's a fair concern but the best way to cool it all down would be through the radiator/intercooler/oil cooler rather than just blowing air against the outside of the block.

Most kits will come with an intercooler. That should be enough for most people. If you need extra cooling, look into a larger radiator or an oil cooler.

Or do hood vents as opposed to a hood scoop. Get the air through the heat exchangers out faster.

2015-2017 had a few decent looking hood scoops. But 18-23 doesn't have any that look good.

The few out there look like the auto store special that people glue onto their Toyota Camry.

Get a GT500 style hood or one of the Shelby GT hoods if you want a hood to help with cooling

I have the Super Snake Hood from Shelby and love it.
Get lots of compliments.
And it has the heat extractors.
Only challenge it fitting it - had the have the fenders and nose adjusted since the slope of the hood is steeper than the stock.

Have a Cervini on my 2006 GT and love that one too.

Hmmm...
Was going to post a link, but the SS Hood is not on the Shelby site.
So guess that are not making those for the 18-23 any longer.

Been running Cervinis hoods for years with no issues at all. Had the Ram Air one on my 15 and on my 18 Saleen, I had the 4"cowl and the Cobra R. The hoods have a metal frame with a fiberglass body. Not one issue ever with them. I even had the paint matched ones.

I highly recommend Cervinis but if you want to look at other hoods, Anderson and Trufiber are solid options.

If we can help, let us know!

Does Cervini recommend locks on their hoods hoods? That’s the scary part; having to drill a hood for locks. The only one I’ve seen that comes molded for locks is the Anderson Composites Cobra Jet hood.

I've never ran them and seen high speeds. Very little wobble but I also still have the belly pan on the car which is key. But you can add some for the extra insurance. The hoods actually weigh 7lbs more than OEM.

A friend of mine bought a Cervini gt500 style fiber-glass hood. This thing weights a lot! I'd look only into aluminium or carbon-fiber. Fiber glass with all the moulding and resin is very heavy!! I am looking into extraction as well, but I have a NA car, so heat extraction is not as critical as boosted one.... Following with interest!

They still have the 15-17 Super Snake hood but not the 18-23. The 18-23 hood was cool too.
