Saw a decently optioned white Z06 brand new discounted to $108k. Prices are falling.
I hear you. I had a 6mt 5BW for about a year. It's an amazing car but it is every bit a Cadillac. Very refined and comfortable. I missed that raw visceral feel of a typical performance car so I sold it. I want a Z06 so bad but just want to see what Ford announces next. There has to be something to fill the gap between the GTD and Dark Horse.Iād give the Z06 a shot. Incredible sounding car. Poor manās Ferrari for sure.
Lots of love in here for the 5BW. I had a manual one that I traded in for my ā20 GT350. Honestly havenāt looked back. While itās an incredible machine, especially for the whole family to enjoy, it really doesnāt come close to the charisma the GT350 has.
My moves over the last years:
E90 M3->G80 M3->manual 5BW->GT350
Itās easy to get bored with the Blackwing. The 350, not so much. I daily all of my cars as well, 50+ miles a day. Iām just a sucker for an N/A V8.

I've always been a Ford guy and love Mustangs. I'm not expecting a C8 fighter. The Mustang crowd is a different customer base. Affordability is the big thing. If it is a new Gt500, I'm all in as long it's not priced like a Z06. Otherwise, I would think I'd go Z06. I hope Ford understands their customer base vs what's on the market at the current price point. The Z is just too much car to pass on if priced similarly. A GT500 with a 6Mt would be killer too!Thatās been said for so long for Ford. Ford is just so conservative compared to GM. I donāt think weāll ever see something from Ford that is specifically aimed at the Corvette market or in that range. Ford just doesnāt even have a chassis platform to go that direction, anything is still going to be based off the current platform. I hope Iām wrong, but donāt think I am. The ZO6 with upper level trim is a really pretty car.
I dunno. Farley might be the guy to make it happen. I mean, nobody ever expected the GTD and now that Chevy slapped him around, we may have a beautiful battle ensuing.Thatās been said for so long for Ford. Ford is just so conservative compared to GM. Been debating GT3 and get rid of my c7 z06 M7 or keep the m7 and add a C8 Z06 hardtopā¦.. yes the depreciation is worse on the vette. On flip side if you invest the price difference for 5 years youād have far more than the depreciation difference.They will be dropping to 100k and the bare bones model z06ās under 100. I saw a message from a dealer on another board that all 2026 Z06 allocations will be ordered 6% under invoice. So tempting. Just waiting for ford to announce the next Mustang so I can set course for the next ride!!!
Show a pic of the Z06I ended up selling my 350R and picked up a 2025 2LZ Z06 with Z07 package with plenty of other options back at the end of June. Got 10K off MSRP and got it done before the stop sale.
The car is fantastic. Totally different dynamic than the 350R. I do really miss having a manual though
I don't get that when the Stingray (the current base C8) is faster around the Lightning Lap than the Dark Horse, and faster in the 1/4 mile, and they are basically the same price.The members talking about the base C8 and how it's not entirely inspiring - that's fair.
100%. A base C8 with mag ride and Z51 package will demolish every other vehicle around a track that's under 80-90k. Some cars that are more powerful like the M2/M3/M4 will be close but they won't feel the same. Every review I've seen/read says that the C8 is the most composed and capable around a track due to being mid engined. And you can get up to negative 3 degrees of camber from the factory...I don't get that when the Stingray (the current base C8) is faster around the Lightning Lap than the Dark Horse, and faster in the 1/4 mile, and they are basically the same price.
