Help me choose new suspension

I wander if BMR is any better? Have you heard anything about them?

I have had the BMR minimum drop springs and cradle lockout kits on my last 2 Mustangs with no issues. In fact, I've been quite happy with the car handling better than stock. I recall one report here of someone having noise issues with BMR sway bars, but I have no experience with their sway bars.

For what it's worth, I personally know two people who have Steeda sport progressive springs and Steeda stop the hop bits installed on their Mustangs and are very happy with them. I rode in one of the cars and was impressed by the softer than stock ride in normal driving. The parts for their cars and mine were installed by shops very familiar with Mustang suspension and alignments. I wonder if some of the negative experiences are due to installation issues.

I have the noise with the BMR sway bar bushings. First 2 times I greased it with Energy suspension grease. They get gritty with road dirt and start to make a crunching sound. A few weeks ago I put Superlube and hoping that helps. Its worth noting that im in south america and the roads are a lot dirtier. I've also driven it down dirt roads so yeah. Definitely an extreme case

I’ve been hearing a lot bout steeda parts failing and making noises both on here and a lot on Facebook.

I too plan to stay away from ordering from them as well. I wander if BMR is any better? Have you heard anything about them?

Also, I’m not sure if you know or not but I’m pretty sure Ford performance makes camber plates too. Have you thought about getting those?

Did you even need camber plates to get back into alignment or was it just something you were upgrading while you were working on the suspension?

Well i did buy my plates from a forum member who said he just changed suspension, but they obviously failed before I bought them. I originally purchased those before my suspension setup as I planned to track the car every once in awhile in the future. Im not here saying steedas parts are bad, as the bottom plate on one side was so out of wack from what ive been told from over tightening, which i didn't think to check when I received them. Sat in the box until I got the rest of my suspension stuff.

Vorslag seems to make great stuff, but for me, being that I'm looking to get back into track stuff every once awhile the cost (715) wasnt a good price point to me. Hence buying the used plates. Plus i don't think I'd be able to get as serious as to where I would need all the adjustments those plates offer.

I have looked at the FP adjustable, but i think I've settled on the MMR plates, when I decide to purchase again and go a little deeper. Going to have this car a long time so im in no immediate rush.

Also I bought the plates for two reason. I wasnt hopeful any alignment shops around me could get what they needed from the standard camber adjustment and I didn't want to use bolts, and future adjustments for light track use.

Again, I am not knocking steedas parts as I have been buying / using their stuff for a long time, it was just some recent issues with buying stuff from them that wasnt made by them, and pertaining to rebuilding something of theirs. The other issue was the instructions of installing the rear irs braces that didn't match up to bolts and such. Shit happens i get it. If it was a barrel claiming a certain MOA I'd have a problem.

If i may suggest one other option:

Bilstein B12 kit is really good and what I'm running. I've had it on for a few weeks now and I really like it. Damping is perfect, not harsh at all. The springs are very well matched to the shocks.


My full setup is as follows, car is formerly a PP1:

• Bilstein B12 kit
  • Eibach 1" drop springs
  • B6 dampers (pretty sure, they never specifically say what they are)
• BMR front camber plates
• Steeda rear camber kit
• FP rear toe bearings
• J&M vertical links
• BMR SB763 front and rear sway bar kit
• Steeda bump steer kit
• Steeda roll center kit

The setup is really close to perfect in my opinion, handles like a dream, really flat in turns. It feels stiff like a sporty suspension but not bouncy or harsh at all, its totally in control at all times. I really do feel that the B12 kit is a good setup, it feels very OEM like.

I would really really suggest that what ever you decide you try and get a set of springs and dampers that are matched or at least sold as a kit. Either from Ford, or Bilstein or Steeda or whoever. It really does make a difference in my opinion. I was going to buy the ford track suspension originally but it was sold out and I didn't wanna wait any longer for it.

Yeah I have some

I need some spacers up front but the stance is really nice. Don’t be afraid of a 1” drop, this car is really high from the factory, and I still have tons of ground clearance.

Well just an update. I ordered the Ford track shocks and struts kit and the spring kit. I am ordering all the parts individually because the full kit is not in stock and has been on backorder since December 2024.

I guess my next step will be to order the sway bars whenever I find them in stock somewhere.

So I built suspension packages using STEEDA parts for my 18 Saleen that can be used for handling but without adding NVH. I did it in different levels or stages to see how it is and by the end, my car was on rails and I would put it against anyone for the most part. I built the car for roads like the tail of the dragon. I've driven the car up and down the east coast and not one issue ever. I swear by these kits for handling and daily use.

My 18 had our Level 4 where I was content with it but we go up to 5. You can see in this picture how it sits on the 1" sport springs (non magnaride) too.

Sway bars are not critical try with out first. EIBACH front sway on soft is excellent if need the rear end more twitchy then get the rear too or a PP2 or GT350 bar.

Well just a little update. My shocks and struts came in and look like they were previously installed or used. So I will be sending them back and ordering from somewhere else this time.

Yes I bought them brand new and they came looking like this.

Shocks tend to get banged around in shipping. Those don’t look used they look like they were badly packed.

I’ve had a very similar thing happen to me with konis and even bilsteins, both for different cars bought from different vendors.

I ordered the springs from another company and they came perfectly packaged without a single mark on them. They were wrapped in foam and sealed in plastic along with stickers and instructions.

The shocks came with none of this and the damage you see listed above. There are marks around the mounting points also. The only way to get the marks around where the bolts go is if they were mounted.

Yeah from what you're saying this seems like a packaging issue. I've had this happen before and the damage looks the same. Shocks are much more difficult to package than springs because of their shape. They usually just get wrapped in paper and thrown in a box, which isn't really enough.

I don't see the marks on the mounting studs you're talking about but, the easiest way to check if they're used is to check the nylock nuts, they'll show witness marks in the plastic if they've been installed.
