I have a 2022 Mustang GT Premium 6 speed manual.

I installed a new suspension, had a professional wheel alignments and a tire balancing. My car drives smooth and accurately, and there are no issues with my tires. However, on the highway, at highway speeds, and on smooth roads my rear-view mirror vibrates quickly and makes me nuts when I am looking into it.

It makes cars behind me, when using it vibrate too. None of my seats or other parts of my car vibrate, just the fricken rear-view mirror. City driving I have no issues with it vibrating at all. Is it just my car? Does anyone else have this happening? How can I stop my mirror from vibrating?

It sounds insignificant, but I am losing my mind over it. Your feedback is appreciated.

Thanks...........

As suggested I'd make sure the mirror is tight.
Then perhaps consider having the tires reballanced at a shop with a "road force balancing" machine. All else being equal, you may not feel anything but, there could be a harmonic at highway speeds.

To answer your question though, no, that's not normal.

I thought this was going to be about a weak pee stream.

Did it vibrate prior to the suspension install? If not, I agree with RadTech, have your wheels/tires rebalanced. Something is a bit off. It’s possible the mirror might’ve gotten loose lifting the car up and down to do the suspension work, but doesn’t seem likely to me.

It seems like a lot of my cars have had certain RPMs or vehicle speeds that cause various resonations or buzzing. Yeah, annoying. They often change with the weather or over time. Sometimes I just punch or push on my dash or door or whatever and it goes away. 🤷‍♂️ I think I've experienced this mirror thing before, too. Don't punch it, though. 🤪

Has anyone approached you and accused you of making their car vibrate?

Has to be wheel balance or defective tires I've never had a car vibrate unless it threw a wheel weight.

It’s going to be a harmonic resonance. Tracking it down will cause a lot of lost sleep and sanity. It could be an exhaust harmonic. Or an engine vibration harmonic. Maybe a driveshaft, or axle shaft, or wheel / tire harmonic. It could even be the road, if it happens in certain places only. It might have always been there, but was absorbed by the previous suspension. Car manufacturers have the resources to measure and track them down, and add some countermeasure to resolve it. Us mere mortals are stuck with the trial and error method, unfortunately. And that is usually not friendly to our bank accounts. Especially on the 3rd plus attempt. Good luck.
