Someone correct me if I am wrong, but isnt the turbo in the ecoboost a twin scroll, which essentially acts similar to a twin turbo?
I don't know anything about turbos, but the 2015 BMW 328i turbo is listed at 240hp. Mustang EB 300hp. That's a big jump. And I think the cars weigh the same.

The sensation of speed has a lot to do with sound deadening and the cars suspension. In my old Porsche it feels like I'm going 60 at 40. Stiff as hell suspension, low to the ground, tons of road noise. This car, like others have said, is quiet and you hardly notice you are doing 90 on the highway.

It's all about how you use the power. The germans are very good at using all of its power. I think the new 3 series has an 8 speed transmission.

BMW has a history of underrating their cars. Typically the hp figure they provide is close to the power it makes at the wheels. That, and the ZF8 is a MUCH faster shifting auto than what the Mustang has.

To the OP, you have your answer. the more refined and capable a vehicle is the less strained it feels going at a high rate of speed. My wife had an 86 Vette years ago and it was much better than any other vehicle we owned. I always had a problem with keeping the speed down in that car because it was so effortlessly fast. The other cars felt like they were running fast but they weren't nearly as fast as the Vette.

a 328i is not turbo, lol

It's an econo BMW
Yes they are. The 328i uses a single twin scroll turbo. Almost all recent BMWs are turbocharged.

anyone price the repair on a BMW turbo ? relative to a Ford EB ? Just looking at repairpal for the costs of a BMW alternator, and doing a linear extrapolation, it wouldn't be pleasant.

You're correct. Bmw's "twin power" turbo on most of their cars means a single twin scroll turbo. I believe the ecoboost mustangs use a twin scroll turbo as well.

I thought I remembered reading the Focus RS would have a twin scroll, and people were hoping that would trickle down to the Ecoboost Mustang as well.
