Had some fun coming back from the shore for the 4th of July weekend tonight (and my birthday) and I drove it hard. 1st to 5th shifting at 6500,7000 rpm and (now tell me if I just can't drive for shit I won't take offense) I'm just dumping the clutch as fast as I can at those higher rpms and it ends up in a super hard slam/jerk when it catches. But I noticed 3 things

1) Each gear seems extra thuddy and jerky/going into first makes alot of clunking and clanging and I have all the mods to help the mt82, op mustang fluid, mgw shifter, one piece driveshaft.

2) the car started smoking at the stoplight after each hard pull

3) fluid is leaking from the top of the transmission area. I think it's water as it's clear but it leaves puddles anywhere i park and it leaves big puddles quickly. Unless the AC drains on top of the transmission then something else is leaking?. It's not coming from the exhaust.

So is my transmission cooked or am I just overthinking it combined with my lack of driving skill.

How do the engine heads look?
How's your coolant level?

Nothing should make the transmission itself leak, unless the case is breached.
Sounds like a clutch issue to me. Maybe a blown TOB leaking fluid onto the clutch. Check your brake res since that is what supply's fluid to the TOB. If it's low, there's your problem, and probably a wrecked clutch because it's now soaked with fluid.

AC condensation puddles under transmission/rear engine area. If theirs nothing wrong with your engine, A jerky hard shifting can be TOB burnt clutces. If it was me, I would just take to a Ford Dealer or good transmission shop and let them verify. I would think the MT6 wouldn't take to much time to removed and upgrade and reinstall. Good Luck

Whatever it is you can see if coming from above the transmission area. Not sure what in earth could be leaking up there.

There's a relief vent of some kind on top of the trans.

Easy to distinguish between water oil or fluid. Use a white paper towel and dab in the water, fluid, oil spot. Water is always clear, oil is mostly tan light brown and transmission or another fluid would be a reddish color.

The MT82 uses red fluid?

It uses DCTF .
Any idea what the OP mustang fluid is? I don't run stock fluids for anything besides dot 4 brake fluid. Everything else is diff, trans fluid, differential fluid, oil, coolant, (swapped colors like 3 times lol because fuck that shitty stuff they use oem)

IF it's brake fluid, let it drip onto your finger. It has a distinct feel/smell. If confirmed, maybe yer long tubes melted the plastic a bit, or the line was pinched on install. Happy hunting !
