@tj@steeda so addressing MAGS concern, how can I make sure I get a model that was made after you guys implemented your “new” powder coating method ;)

You will be getting the latest when you order from www.steeda.com as we don't have any old inventory - everything is manufactured when items go out of stock & then replenished with the latest & greatest standard operating procedures.

I think you’ve won me over as one of your colleagues is price matching BMR… 👀

TJ so quick question, I’ve watched several install videos and taken a look at your guys directions. I see the factory bolts have blue loctite on them, when people install the BMR bar and reuse factory bolts they reapply blue loctite onto the bolts and torque to 41lb ft as per the directions. I’m going to use your guys included hardware because I figure there’s a reason for it other than convenience, or you wouldn’t include them, as R&D seems to be a top priority at Steeda. I see in your directions, you guys do not use any loctite, and torque slightly higher to 45lb ft. I suppose my question is then, if it was your guy’s car, all good with no loctite?

@tj@steeda also, are the included bolts a different size than stock, and why is this? Thank you :)

We provide bolts because yes, not all cars come with them.

Our bolts are typically shorter than what is used by the factory as we are trying to save weight. Since this part adds weight to the car, we are trying to save it everywhere else.

Best,

Sounds good, since I have all eight factory bolts would you recommend I use those, or the included ones? And the loctite…?

I reused my factory bolts. Added a little bit of blue loctite. Good to go. I kept the Steeda bolts in case I ever need to replace one of the factory ones

Folks thank you for attending the show, I ordered BMR CJR002 rails today!

A number of things factored into this, but the main ones were I am planning on staying stock otherwise, so I preferred the longer rails and also where BMR’s mount, as well as them using the factory hardware. Green is BMR mounting points and pink is Steeda. I felt that their design more closely replicated where Ford wanted bolts on the car, and where they did not, as Steeda’s uses an empty hole in the center that’s prethreaded from the factory. Probably way overthinking that part, but still, I felt more comfortable that way.

Again I know others said you can reuse factory hardware, BUT you are forced to use Steeda hardware in that threaded hole that doesn’t have a bolt from the factory, and I just couldn’t get comfortable with the length of the included fastener versus stock.

Lastly, I couldn’t get comfortable with Steeda’s powder coat after reading several threads about rails as well as several other parts. You can check out the main thread of concern below:

https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...s-will-they-work-together.181834/post-3786516

Not knocking Steeda at all, I respect their parts and brand, as well as their customer service they show and showed me. It’s UNMATCHED! That said I made the decision based on what I thought is the best product, for the rails specifically.
